Does Anyone Else Have Problems Using Coupons at Walgreen's?

I always have problems using coupons at Walgreen's - Always!

Tonight I tried using their January Savings Coupon that says "$3 Off Loreal Preference or Superior Hair Color".

I went in, bought a brown shade of Preference and tried to ring up with it.  The coupon beeped.

I was then told by two cashiers, and an assistant manager that it had to be the color pictured on the box - a shade of blonde.

I tried explaining to them the wording and got nowhere, left empty-handed after causing a huge scene.

Frustrating, especially since their store doesn't have an established coupon policy.  

I've never had a problem at CVS, nor Rite Aid and you would think competition is pretty stiff.

Walgreen's is frustrating... anyone else feel this way or has your experience been different?

    That is frustrating.

    I really hate when there are pictures on coupons. I've been told the same thing when the coupon says something like "save 25 cents off any X product" and if I don't have the one in the picture and it doesn't scan, they'll tell me I have to buy the one pictured. Oh, really? Then why does it say ANY?

    I HATE Walgreens and refuse to even shop there anymore because I've had so many problems. We only have one in our area, so I didn't know if it was just the sales people there, or if it was more of a universal thing. They will not adjust my coupons down, they are nasty, and I finally decided it's just not worth my frustration to go there. I honestly don't care if the whole darn store is on sale, I'm so fed up I won't go in-don't even look at their ads. I figure Rite Aid and CVS are so great-cashiers are amazing, never have any problems, I'd just rather have a stress free and exciting shopping experience than deal with Walgreens garbage.

    I had this happen with that stupid Rolaids deal - the Save $4.00 off any (2) Mylanta, Rolaids, etc.  I fought and fought for this one and even contacted P&G and got nowhere.  People can't read!

    Absolutely.  I am going to call the store and corporate tomorrow to explain the problem but not in the hopes of making Walgreen's one of my regular stores.  I do believe I am done with them, too.

    i had one beep a while ago and the manager said it hadn't been added to their system-----she took the coupon and went to her office and added it to the system so I could use it.  Sounds like mgrs that don't know how to do their jobs, or are afraid to do something new.

    That stinks, I'd go to CVS with thosee coupons and get your hair color there.

    I've never had a problem at my walgreens. In fact, the other day the cashier let me double up coupons for mouth wash that was on sale. And, I got a buy one get one free item, had coupons for both, so one of them Walgreens gave me 2 dollars for! Yeah, if I had a problem like that though, I'd be mad!
