Working Moms

for those that only BF at night

I have posted a few times about my decision to only bf at night to avoid pumping at work. . . for those of you have done this...have you had any trouble with supply?  Today I went 12 hours without pumping or bfing.

  • Can you do morning and night?  If so, I think you will be ok (I was) but everyone is different.

Yes. that's what I meant. :-)  Plus 1st thing in the AM.  One poster responded that her milk dried up in only a few days when she stopped pumping at work.  This worried me.

  • I had to do the same when I went back to work.  It was weird b/c yes - my supply dropped - but produced enough milk for the bedtime and early rise feedings and even alittle extra on the weekends..  Eventually, only one breast was "working" and then after 5 months of this system - I stopped entirely.

  • I've been doing it for the past week or so. Seems to be going fine, but I pumped until she was just about 1 and then went on vacation over the Christmas/New Year holidays.
  • I started doing this about a week and a half ago.  So far I am OK... have plenty at night/early morning and am comfortable during the day.
  • Yes. I started doing this at 6 months, only at night though. The grils were still waking up in the middle of the night to eat. My supply dropped really fast and eventually after two months I was dried up.
