Question about POM juice

It is hard for me to drink.  I know it has to be pure POM, but if I am sure to get 8 ounces of pure POM each day can I dilute it or drink it in smaller portions throughout the day? I read somewhere about mixing it with club soda. It doesn't taste bad to me, but it gives me heartburn.

Re: Question about POM juice

  • I have had a similar issue with POM juice. My stomach gets a little upset. I think it is the acid. I have tried several different brands and can't believe how different they all are. I put ice in mine and let it melt. That waters it down some. Eating the actual fruit doesn't do it to me.

  • Does the POM pomegranate/lychee/green tea not work? I *LOVE* that drink! Also - I can still find pomegranates at my grocery store, and I love to just eat them fresh that way. They are usually gone by Thanksgiving. Not sure what's going on this year.... But maybe you can try to find them in your area?
  • I eat pomegranates when they are available. I haven't seen any recently.  I'll try it over ice.

  • You can mix it with Sprite or water I think. I always water down juices anyway because they're so sweet. Mixing in Sprite helped it sit better with me too.

  • What brands to you guys use, and where do you get them?  The only place I can find them is in an upscale grocery store, and at $6+/tiny bottle.

  • I get it at my Giant Food Store. I use the POM Wonderful brand and it is $9.99 for a 48 ounce jug.

  • I always mix mine with sparkling water.  I think that's fine - you just aren't supposed to drink the pom blends (like Pom/Blueberry, etc).  The idea is to get 8 oz of the POM juice, so it doesn't matter if you add some water.

Once I drank it in the morning with no food and without water - I felt like vomiting for the next 3 hours!
