When DD wakes up at night (which is maybe once a week if that) I pretend not to hear her. She is perfectly capable of soothing herself back to sleep but it drives DH nuts and he goes and rocks her. SO I "sleep hard" and let him get up.
In the morning, if I don't have work, I will let Brooke fuss in her crib for 10-15 minutes sometimes. I am so horrible at getting out of bed. Mostly she just talks or jumps up and down, but sometimes she is crying.
That's nothing, I sleep with earplugs! My DH doesn't, so if he's home that night (he's a shiftworker), he'll always end up getting up with her. That said, she hardly every wakes up (like once in the past 2 months, when she was sick...we're on a roll) but I will still put in my earplugs even if DH isn't home. I can hear her if she's really freaking out, but this way, I miss the little cries and re-settling.

I have a lot of your siggies blocked, some of them permanently by poster.
I haven't left the house in 2 days. Cabin fever has turned DS into a little despot.
When DS wakes up at 2am, DH and I just turn off the monitor. He always goes back to sleep, to reawaken again at a normal hour, and does not appear to have been permanently scarred.
You can do that? Also, why? Are the siggies something offensive? I am soooo curious, lol!
It's for Firefox users, you right-click on a picture or banner ad and can set a specialized filter for it - you can choose never to see that particular picture again, or to never see any picture from that host (i.e. poster, for habitual offenders) again. Wa-la!
I don't find sig pics offensive, but the ones that are super-big, or people who have three large pictures followed by two tickers, and my hand cramps up scrolling past all the stuff in their signature - yeah, blocked. Also handy for a lot of the Nest's annoyingly large ads to the right of the page.

I made a waitress cry yesterday. She spilled my food all over me. I was covered in hot, sticky barbecue sauce and I was pissed. I didn't yell, but she kept apologizing over and over again, so I finally said, "it's okay, could you just stop talking about it." Then she started crying. I felt bad, but why should I have to fall all over myself to make her feel better when I'm the one sitting in barbecue sauce?
Cause it's the nice thing to do when she obviously was sorry. Did you at least appologize afterwards? Maybe she was having a crappier day than the BBQ sauce you had on you.
I judge anyone who considers Fox News a credible news source.
All new sources are biased. It's just the way it works. They tell the side of the story that's benefits their agenda. So I judge anyone that believes every word of any news source. You have to do your research yourself if you want the truth.
Um, no, sorry...we're not.
REAL news agencies, be they broadcast, newspaper, whatever, report an event in as unbiased a way as can be done. Of course, based on who is giving you the information, things are always open to interpretation, which is why a legitimate news agency is 100 percent open about where the information originates, to make sure that people can make informed decisions about that data based on their own opinions.
Fox habitually, and unapologetically, will either act as a mouthpiece for the Republican party, or shape events to fit Rupert Murdoch's agenda.
It sickens me that there are people that watch Fox all day and believe that they are getting "the real story." Every time someone on that channel talks about "what the media isn't telling you," I want to send them a letter bomb.
Ok, Lori. I'll back off and say that maybe all news sources aren't biased, but from what I've watched on TV, I've seen bias in all the big news providers, CNN, MSNBC, Fox etc. But I trust no news station fully. I get info from them and if I'm interested in the story I look to other sources to get other info and then decide what to believe. I know that since you are a journalist, that comment must be annoying. And I have to say our local news providers seem to be much more objective than the national ones.
