I don't love cats I don't really like them either. I certainly don't hate them and would never want to see one hurt or killed...but I feel that way about all animals.

I love my cat! She's adorable and cuddly. DH, on the other hand, isn't a cat person. Oh well, he does a good job pretending he likes her. (A much better job than my cat does of liking him. If he is the only one home, she hides.)
I am so-so about dogs. Some are great; some are not. Some of this stems from having been bitten once.
I really don't like them. My mom has a cat, its been in our family now 16 years. I was in HS when my little sister brought it home. It was fun as a kitten, but has been a moody, bitchy cat since it grew out of that adorable kitten stage. Every cat I know is mean and unpredictable. My mom's cat hates kids and always tries to scratch them whenever they are near her. Dogs are so much more lovable.
I'm sure I would change my mind if I owned a loving cat (if they exist).
I like cats alot and wish i could have them but I am severely allergic to them and some dogs. There for I have hypo allergenic dogs lol, which makes me love dogs more because I can be around them
I have no idea how people can't like cats. My MIL is scared of them. We have one cat, Truman the Terrible and she is horrified of him. It makes me laugh so much (when she can't see of course).... I've always had cats, even when I was a little bitty baby. When I first moved in with my DH to be we didn't have any pets and I missed my 3 cats at my parent's so much that we adopted Truman. I just am not happy without a pet, and since I board my horse across town he doesn't fill that need. There is nothing in the world like snuggling with a little purring furball
I am SO allergic to cats that if I sit on a couch where one has been, and I'm wearing shorts, I break out! I'm not allergic to dogs though! Don't know why! Anyway, my grandma has turned into the "old cat lady" with 15 cats and I can't go over there anymore! I told her it stunk in there but she said she'd rather have the cats..... I think 1 or 2 are okay, though.

I can understand if some people are just not animal people, and cats can cause severe allergies and cats are known to be selfish animals, so I can see it..but it's HARD for me to see it. LOL animals are my whole world.
Someone hurting an animal, enrages me!!! I rescue horses from slaughter, it's like my livelyhood lol...I guess to each their own!
I'm a dog person. Not a fan of cats at all. Sometimes they are cute, but then they completely ignore you. I don't like that. Oh, and they also have claws and like to scratch furniture (and people too! Ow...had that happen once). Yikes.
Besides, I was raised by a mom who is deathly afraid of cats. So, my thoughts were probably influenced in that way. When my mom was a baby, one of her mom's housecats was found laying on my mom's face (over the mouth).
I am an animal lover. We have two cats and two dogs. I also don't understand how people can be mean to animals. It breaks my heart.
Used to have two horses, but time constraints and other interests (triathlon training is a major time burn) put the kabosh on the horses. I still would like to get another horse sometime in the next five years or so. I grew up riding and miss it so much.
They're dirty, they stink, they're standoffish, temperamental, moody, my family had one that would sit on the garage roof and jump down ON TOP OF unsuspecting passersby, I could go on. I like dogs, but I hate cats. And if you let your cat use a litterbox in your house....ugh. Beyond disgusting.
I'm not a fan of any indoor animals... for me there is nothing more disgusting than walking into a house and immediately knowning an animal lives there just by the smell. (which pet owners seem to be immune to since I've found I'm the only one that notices it). No matter how regularly you groom your animal or change the litter box, I can still smell it and it grosses me out. Not to mention the pet hair... nothing says professional like showing up to work with animal hair all over you. Just saying... I love animals - but wouldn't never keep one in my house.
I am not a cat person. I of course would not want anyone to hurt a cat, but I definitely would never own one. I don't know what it is, something about the hair balls, bringing in dead birds, dingleberries, stinky pee, litter boxes, plus they're not very trainable. It's just a personal choice. I am a huge dog person though.
I'm guilty. Can't stand them. They are so sneaky and creepy. And all of them I met, can tell I don't like them, so they want to be all over me.
I am weird though, I like kittens. I think they are adorable and playful but unfortunately they grow up into big cats. I think if I got my own as a kitten, I would love it when it grew up into a cat. Weird I know...

Let me know when your interested in possibly getting another horse. We have rescues up for adoption. Wonderful wonderful horses!!!
I love dogs. I can't stand cats. Don't hate them. I've just never been around a nice cuddly cat. Ever. My friends growing up had them, a few friends now have them. All the ones I've seen are crazy & mean.
I have nothing against cats, I much prefer my dogs though. They don't puke out of anger/revenge, and my dogs never try to be stealthy and sneaky..quite the opposite actually. I adore a good barn cat.
On the same token, being a horse person I can't understand someone being afraid of horses or not liking them.
Cats don't like me, so the feeling is mutual. I agree with Buckets that they are moody, standoffish, selfish, and I they just don't give me the warm fuzzies. My mom has had cats since I was 12, and DH and I have vowed we will never own them. That being said, I don't advocate hurting them; I just wish they would all go live on another continent.

Horses are huge flight animals!! LOL, horses to us are like cars to most people; a normal way of life..so it's hard to see the fear but coming from someone that has never been around them, I can understand lol
I don't like them b/c I'm terribly allergic and although I realize it's not their fault - they make it imposible for me to spend any amount of time at some of our dearest friends houses (and obviously it's not my fault either!). I become a red itchy eyed sneezing mess within about 20 minutes. I basically just can't even go to DH's best friend's house (he was our best man in our wedding) due to this.

Re: How can people NOT love cats!
Cats steal babies breath and/or smother them. True story.
:op
I love my cats too, I wouldn't trade them for anything.
I have four cats. I totally feel you.
However, I'm not a fan of dogs and some people can't understand that.
I agree, one of my best friends HATES cats..I am the biggest lover of ALL animals..I think it comes with the territory of being a horse person too..
But it's hard for me to trust people that hate animals...something weird about it! LOL
ME TOO. I could NEVER have married someone that hates animals.
I am a dog lover, but I can understand that just because some can be scary lol
AGREED! My DH LOVEESSS animals!!!
