How much formula at 7 weeks?

Hi everyone!

My son is about 7 weeks old (though he was born a bit early - 37 weeks) and I'm wondering... how much are other babies his age drinking?

He's about 9 lbs and drinks about 30oz a day. Is that normal? If I don't let him drink that much he just screams. If i give him a bottle he screams. Pretty much anything makes him scream and the only thing that makes him stop is formula (once he finally calms down and drinks it that is!)

I know they say about 2.5oz per lb but that doesn't seem to work for my LO.

So.. if you don't mind helping me out... How old is your LO, how much do they weigh, and how much do they drink?

my LO eats about 4 oz each eating... and she eats about every 2-3 hours still

My LO is 4 weeks but he's 9lbs 8oz (went to the pedi today) so he's very similar to where your LO is. He drinks 4-5oz every 2 1/2 -3 hours a day. At night he wakes up twice (once every four hours) and drinks 5oz. I never calculated what that comes out to but the pedi was happy with it today.

My lo eats 6 oz with a tsp of rice cereal in it every 3-4hrs except at night he will go 6-8hrs at nite. He weighed 11.4 at his 1mo appt u r good no worries
