Emily is having sleep issues the last couple of days. She is a tummy sleep (I know, but it's the only way she'll sleep), anyways, she has started rubbing her face/head against the bassinet and can't seem to get settled anymore. Even chest-to-chest she rubs against me. Anyone know why she may be doing this? Is there anything I can do to help her? We tried to swaddle her and have her sleep on her back last night, no luck. So there's very little sleep for the two of us right now. Tuesday we go four her 2 month and I figured I talk to the doc then.
Re: Rubbing face/head causing no sleep
A very common sign of overtiredness in babies is head rubbing. They'll move/rub their heads back and forth trying to block everything else out. It's soothing for them and helps them eventually fall asleep.
Can she put herself to sleep on her own yet? Are you going in when she's doing this and fussing a little, trying to get her to sleep? If you left her a little she might calm down and put herself to sleep.
If you think that's what it is, try putting her down to sleep earlier and see if that helps. Otherwise, I don't know.. GL

Overtired, yo.
Is it possible she's trying to burrow for warmth?
This. Also, see if she'll sleep on her side. Perhaps she is tired of sleeping on her tummy and side-sleeping is a very comfortable way for babies to sleep.
