Re: Spotting after Trans Vaginal U/S

  • This is normal after a vaginal u/s.  It has happened to me every time

  • OK thank you that helps I called the doctor this morning and they said it happens in 50% of pregnancies and 50 % of the time they are fine, but of course that wasn't very reassuring to me.  She did say that I have a better chance since we saw and heard a good HB yesterday.

  • Just keep an eye on it and if it turns red or gets heavier that is when i would definitly call the doc.  It sounds like you are doing the same thing I did though.
  • thank you again for the reassurance it helps more than you know :)

    BTW, Abby is precious!

  • very normal.  the told me its very possible it could happen.  we had our u/s yesterday so nothing yet.
  • Thank you Ematts...I did not have a TV with my last pregnancy and the Tech said nothing about the spotting so of course when I went to the bathroom this morning I freaked.

Ugghhh it feels like being pregnant for the first time all over again, I can't wait to get out of the first tri, so I can stop worry so much.

  • Totally normal. My doctor warned me I might get spotting after my u/s, and he said not to worry. I'm surprised your doctor didn't mention anything.
  • I had t/v u/s yesterday too!  I had spotting the night before the ultrasound, and I made sure to ask the tech if i would spot from the u/s and she said I should not because they are only in the vagina and don't touch the cervix?  But then plenty of others on this board had spotting with it ,so i think it is normal.  I asked the nurse too yest at the office, she said brown spotting is not abnormal.  I hate theese early weeks can't wait to be out of 1st tri!!!  We got to see the heartbeat too which, is reassuring!  GL!
  • Completely normal
