So, I had my 35 week appointment today and the doctor said I have the beginnings of high blood pressure. He said I am not going back to work, and wants my feet up for two hours in the morning, afternoon and evening. I go back next Monday for another exam and an ultrasound. He said to plan on having the baby early!
Anyone else have anything similar happen to them?
Re: 35 week appointment and high blood pressure
What was your BP? I just posted about my 35w appt too. They just did PIH blood work, but no resting orders or anything. I was at 150/94 today. Boo!
I did have PIH and pre-e with my first 2 pregnancies and had both of them 2 weeks early, so going early is a possibility for me too!
I had great bp until about 36/37 weeks. I had a similar experience this morning. The MW informed me that I am done with work immediately and I'm on bedrest. I have to go back on Wednesday and may be induced then. They said I should plan on having the baby next week, at the latest. So my advice is enjoy your modified rest because you might get put on strict bedrest soon. Do whatever you can to finish getting ready for LO without raising your pressure. Good luck!
Well, mine doesn't seem that high. I think it was 126 or 136/86. I guess he is just being very cautious?

Wow, how high was your bp? Was this the first time is was high? Mine has been consistently high my whole pregnancy, but I haven't been diagnosed with pre-e yet, which is good. My Dr. has ordered weekly BPP's and NST's, but I haven't had to be on bedrest. I had to take a 24 hour urine test a couple of months ago, which I have to repeat again this week, so we'll know if it is progressing from PIH to pre-e.
Mine was high before I was even 14 weeks pregnant and I was put on Labetalol, which had everything under control until my 34 week appointment when my BP was back to it's beginning high level (140/90). My OB ordered bloodwork and a urine test, but not the 24 hour urine and had me come back the next week to have it checked again. It was still high (140/94) so the nurse told me just to keep my appointment for this week, which is tomorrow. I haven't gotten a phone call that my bloodwork came back bad so I'm hoping all is fine. I'll find out more tomorrow morning.
There has been no bedrest for me, yet. But I am now officially on maternity leave so at least that's a plus! Maybe tomorrow my BP will be okay, wishful thinking there.
