your kid just won't sleep outside your arms?
B is progressively getting worse and worse at self soothing- he is suddenly addicted to the pacifier, he is waking sooo often (and not eating each time).
We are going to sleep train once the new year comes- but this is getting crazy and besides rocking him for hours, is there something else I can do?
Re: If you don't do CIO/sleep train- what do you do when
DS went through a phase (ffor about 2 weeks) at around your kid's age. I ended up co-sleeping with him a couple of nights to preserve my sanity.
Thankfully, it seems to have passed and we're *fingers crossed* sleeping well again.
DS started this problem around 5 months. We introduced a lovey. I slept with it up my shirt 2 nights so it smelled like me then we put him in his crib handed him his lovey and walked out. I have a 2 minute rule. I will let him cry for 2 minutes before I go back in. 95% of the time he stops before the 2 minutes are up.
You have company with what you are going through. Right before DS turned 6 mo he turned into a pacifier junky. Before he would only have it for naps and bedtime, now he wants it all.the.time. I'm just chalking it up to teething.
He has also woken up throughout the night crying for his paci when it falls out which we go in and replace. Pedi wants us to do CIO so he learns to self-soothe. We bought the Ferber book but haven't read it yet. Some nights are worse than others. We had two nights recently where he actually truly STTN. Of course those were two nights I had insomnia and didn't get to sleep myself. Then last night he was up about 7 times.
have you tried The No Cry Sleep Solution? That really worked for us.
But when she was sick or something that I knew was just for a short amount of time, we would cosleep or I'd sleep holding her in the recliner all night.
