Sometimes my DH wakes after a while (if I think Evan is going to fall back to sleep on his own and I'm letting him CIO for a bit) but other times...like tonight, he sleeps right through it. I gave Evan a few minutes but could tell he wasn't going back to sleep without help.
So I got some motrin (he's working on all 4 upper teeth right now) went in and rocked him for quite a while. When I came out I just heard snoring from DH : )
Part of me is glad - I want him to get a good night's sleep...he works really hard and then comes home and helps me a ton and does a lot of the housework because I'm so useless right now. BUT - it makes me nervous that I am the only one that hears our baby (soon to be babies) wake at night.
Re: Do your DHs hear the baby cry at night?

Eve Amelia- Born 2/24/09. 6lb 9.9oz
Natalie Ruth - Born 6/13/11 7lb 6.6oz
Honestly, there have been many times that DH hears him before me. But, if he works the next day, it's usually those night that he then turns to me and says, "Jen....he's crying." Yeah....thanks, babe.
He will hear him cry, but can roll over and fall right back asleep since he knows I will get up. Some nights he will get up and help, if Evan won't go back to sleep or something. Most mornings DH will ask me "was Evan up during the night?" and I can't believe that he doesn't hear him!
I am planning on going to visit my best friend in NC in the spring, and I told DH I was nervous he wouldn't wake up if Evan did. He assured me that he would, he just blocks it out when he knows I'm there. Plus the monitor is on my side of the bed on a low volume (since I'm a light sleeper) He said as long as the monitor is on his side and turned up a little he will wake up.
I would say most times DH is oblivious-you could set a bomb off next to him and he'd sleep through it! It depends how long and hard she cries though-but I always hear her first-I'm a very light sleeper. One day last week he stayed home from work and I had to work-he claimed the baby let him sleep until 930! She NEVER wakes up later than 815 so I know she was babbling to herself for an hour before he heard her! So from now on the monitor comes in our room when hes off for the day-even though theres only one wall separating our room and hers!
No, but I think he learned to sleep through it because I always got up in a flash.
