fundal height at 39 week appt...

in 3rd Trimester
Was measuring 36.  Midwife didnt' seem concerned but when I got home I realized I measured 36 the week before.  Does this mean I'm going to go late? Or that the baby has stopped growing b/c placenta isn't functioning?  I'm sure I'm overreacting and that if something was wrong my MW would have said something...

    It could be off because of how the baby was positioned inside of you.  Also, I believe that other women on the bump have not had much change with fundal height towards the end.  I'm sure you and baby are absolutely fine!

    Fundal height should be close to whatever week in pregnancy you are. Some people measure bigger or smaller. Like me, at 38w 4d I am measuring 46w, which is huge :)

    But every baby and every pregnancy is different. If you are concerned, you should call your MW.

    Most likely the baby has dropped or at the very least changed position.  It is totally normal.  It could very well be a good thing, and if the baby has indeed dropped you shoudl be getting ready to go anytime now.

    The dropping thing does make sense.  Thanks ladies!  Let's hope this means she's getting ready to arrive :-)

    Same happened to me.  I've been about 2-3cm "behind" for the past few weeks now since LO is soooo low.

    If they felt like the growth was restricted or there was some issue they probably would have sent you for a growth u/s.  My doc said not to worry so I'm not.
