VENT and over-share alert: Baby kicking feeling

I just have to vent.  I keep having this sensation that a baby is kicking in my belly.  It?s just gas, actually.  But it happens at least once a week and I have baby fever right now so it is sort of like a reminder that I want another baby but cannot have one right now.  (We?re not TTC? I?m taking BC for the first time in over a decade to try to shrink some cysts).  Before going on BC I took at least 3 PG tests because of this feeling and because it would happen a day or two after watching one of those shows about women having babies after not even realizing they were pregnant.  Aunt flo visits like clockwork so between the tests and the visits I KNOW I?m not pregnant.  But it feels like it!  Even my bewbies are tender.

It?s like my body is simulating a pregnancy because I would like to start TTC for another baby, but knowing I can?t my brain is overcompensating.

Ugh ? so weird.

And it?s happening right now.  I wish it would just stop ? it?s annoying and sort of teasing. Not nice lower abdominal area!

  • You are SO not alone!  I had these sensations for months before TTC number 2...they're crazy.  I think it's a psychological reaction to wanting another kiddo.  I kept taking pregnancy tests because I was confused.

  • I did google something like, ?baby kicking sensation but not pregnant? and a ton of posts about gas came up.  That?s how I self-diagnosed that one!

But thanks for the sympathy, I do appreciate it!!

  • This happens to me A LOT and I'm nowhere near ready to TTC #2!  It's such an odd feeling.

  • Now I understand why newly pregnant women think they're feeling kicks when it's actually gas. It can really feel like kicks!

  • I call them Phantom Baby Kicks.  Dude, I've taken so many pregnancy tests even when I know I can't be pregnant b/c of those darn phantom baby kicks!

  • Oh yes.  I had this for a couple months and it feels 100% real.  I do miss the feeling and would love to have another but I just don't think it's in the cards for us.  For me I think it's my body trying to get my attention because under different circumstances, I would consider another child.
  • I had those phantom kicks for a few months recently.  And it is NOT because I want another baby!  lol  But I don't think it was gas either.  It felt exactly like baby kicks.  So strange.

If you don't think it's gas, what do you think it IS?

My husband works with women who are obsessed with their colon health and do all these flushes and stuff.  They insist we have huge parasites in us and they have flushed them out.  Maybe it's a parasite knock knock knocking on my small intestine's door?
