Trying to Get Pregnant

SO Linens....Inlaw biitch

Ahhh the holidays.  So I'm gearing up for the dreaded week long inlaw Thanksgiving visit.  During their last visit, I was informed that I have to change laundry detergents.  MIL gets itchy.  I was also informed that regular cotton sheets are not acceptable.  I had to buy flannels for the guest room this weekend.  And I have never seen human use as many towels as they do.  The both shower 2x a day every day.  Each shower is a fresh towel, fresh wash cloth and fresh hand towel.  So yes..... 12 towels, wash cloths and hand towels every 24 hours for 2 people.....I can't wait.

  • Indifferent Especially because they use so many towels, I would use whatever laundry detergent you were using that causes MIL to itch. Otherwise, she can bring her own and wash her own shizz.
  • They are staying for a week???  I would kill myself if anyone came and stayed with us for a week, including my own parents (and we're very close).  Dealing with someone else's high maintenance parents would be the end of it all for me.

  • Whoa!  They need to stay at a hotel or bring their own towels and wash cloths and hand towels.
  • imageLaurLaurLaur:
Can you switch detergent to something itchier?

Oh I like the way you think.

I think that would be the last straw...I would tell them they can move themselves to the hotel!  You're not their maid and they should have to deal with your stuff if they're gonna be in your house.

Ditto this, a hotel can wash their linens and towels everyday.

Unbelievable!  They brought their own sheets last time they came to visit, so this time they made you go buy sheets for them??  How rude.

  • Some people are too comfortable because it's their kid's house. I don't care who you are you should never behave that way as a guest in someone's house. Even if it is your child.

Actually, watching MIL meticulously pick every cat hair off her black paints kind of makes their stay more fun for me.

  • I would tell them...

    1) If they are going to biitch about the sheets they need to bring their own or buy what they want for you to keep there for them.

    2) If they use that many towels they should do their own damn laundry and bring their own detergent.

I will call the Waaaahmbulance for them if you would like Big Smile

I know, I couldn't imagine my inlaws staying for a week, or anyone for that matter.

I guess I can understand accommodating certain things like allergies to food, detergents, etc. but some of those demands are just insane.  Good luck to you!

  • I wouldn't do crap and let them deal with it.  Laundry detergent I can understand, my DH has really senistive skin and if a detergent has too much scent or coloring he is miserable and itchy.  everything else is ridiculous.

My MIL knows damn well that when she and my step-FIL and DH's 2 sisters (12 and 14) that they are all to clean up after themselves. I love having them here, but this isnt the Hilton!

Ha!  That's true.  Try to leave as many cat/dog hairs on all the furniture as possible.  I would LOVE to watch that with you.

Funny thing is the guest room is her room she sleeps on the guest bed every night.  She sits outside the door the whole time they're here... It's like she knows and she's just waiting for them to leave.
