Dry heaving all evening...

I am 9 weeks and 3 days and although I am not vomiting, I have been dry heaving all day. Awful feeling and I cant enjoy any food as the nausea hits in waves. When does this ever go away?

  • For some it tends to get better in the 2nd Tri.  Not to be a debbie downer - but for me it never did.  I was hospitalized for 5days with DD because of severe nausea/dryheaving.  Please take care and if you are unable to keep anything down, go the DR or ER and get fluids.  I ended up going home with 3 kinds of nausea meds to keep the dry heaving under control and so I could keep liquids down.  Zofran is my hero right now.  Hope you feel better soon.

  • Good luck - because it varies with everyone.  My m/s has disappeared this week completely, but there are moments when I still get the dry heaves.  My one tip is to try to drink water or gatorade as much as possible, especially right when you feel the heaves coming on.  Earlier in my pg I had the dry heaves so bad I started have sever stomach pains.  By at least having some liquid in my stomach or troat it made the heaving not nearly as painful, and help dilute the stomach acid that will come up.
  • I'm still waiting...

  • I feel like all I do is dry heave!  Although this week it did include some vomiting.  Crossing my fingers it goes away soon.
