Ok, so some of you know from my post this morning, I got a BFP yesterday, but I started cramping and spotting.
I called my OB's officed to try and get in for betas either today or Monday because my NP said she wanted to see me ASAP when I got a pos. test again so we could start betas and progesterone supplements.
The lady on the phone said the earliest appointment I could get was Wednesday, and then transferred me to a nurse. I asked the nurse about coming in for betas and the Rx and she said no to the betas because "they can't do anything if there's something wrong anyway" and no to the Rx because the other Drs in the office wouldn't perscribe it until 16 weeks and I must have heard the NP wrong and I need to "just wait" to get the pg confirmed by the office on Wed.
Am I wrong to be miffed beyond belief? I dunno, I just thought that they'd show a little more compassion towards me when I mentioned the spotting now and my previous m/c, and they didn't seem to care at all.
I'm contemplating switching offices to a MW practice at a birth center attached to a hospital. It's a 30 minute drive, and I don't know if they take my insurance yet or not. But, I'm going to call Monday and ask about the insurance.
I hate that I didn't get betas today. I know they don't change the outcome of things, but it would have been nice to at least get *some* type of baseline for next week.
WWYD?
Re: Set me straight
You know how I feel...
to me it sounds like one of those big OB practices that have too many people working at them and too many patients and this causes a huge lack of communication and no personal attention. I would definitely look into the MW practice, and I really hope they take your insurance and you can get in for betas on Monday!
