I was just reading an article in a parenting magazine that a teacher wrote. one of her comments was that gifts are not necessary but if you must, a gift card in any amount is great and she mentioned not to buy candles because they get too many of them, and she preferred no baked goods. HA! talk about a straight shooter.
LO daycare has a bunch of teachers not just one so I need a simple, affordable idea for at least 5 of them. What do you spend? I was thinking a bath and body works product but then what if they have skin allergies?
Re: any ideas on holiday gifts for teachers?
Last year I gave Walmart gift cards because I didn't know them that well (we don't have Target). If DS was still going to be in daycare this year I was going to do these insulated lunch bags. I think they're really cute and decent price.

My mom is a teacher and gets more crap shaped like apples with her name on it than anything else. She would ALWAYS prefer a GC, even in a small amount. Often, they want walmart gift cards - many spend their own $$ to buy things for their classrooms, and this can help offset the cost.
I am planning to make gift bags with xmas candy (reeses peanut butter cups, hersheys minis, etc.) with a $5 or $10 starbucks or target GC inside.
I'm a teacher and LOVE getting gift cards. Some of my favorites have been from a bookstore, Subway (great to run out and grab a quick lunch), and Target. Hand sanatizer from Bath and Body Works is another good bet (especially this year)!
I normally throw away any baked goods - you never know how they were prepared. Candles and lotions normally get donated to Goodwill every year.
Forgot to add another good idea...Breakfast! I had a student a couple of years ago bring in breakfast from Panera for the teachers on the team. We had bagels, cream cheese, OJ, coffee, etc. I did the same thing for our daycare last year and they really liked it!
