Ok, so I plan to ask my pedi at our next visit (for the 2nd flu shot).
But in the meantime, I thought I'd see if any of you know...
I'm hoping to BF til 12 months, but it's getting harder to find time at work to pump to meet her demand. Plus I am honestly getting a little tired of always pumping and BFing (she still nurses at night, some of it for a true feeding but also for comfort). My breasts need - a - break.
So for this time period between 11-12 months, what should I do?
Increase fluid intake and get through it pumping? Do my best not to give in to comfort nursing at night? I always intend to be strong...and then I give in.
Could I start cow's milk a few weeks early, like say 11 months and 2 weeks old? I would do a mix of cow's milk + still BFing.
Something else? I'm just worn down to be honest.
Re: A question about cow's milk @ 12 months
well with the usual disclaimer to ask your pedi, etc....
mine ok'd cow's milk during the day at daycare after 11 months. I was starting to wean from pumping at work and used up freezer stash, so she got a cup at lunch instead of a bottle for a couple of weeks in there.
As long as it's not replacing all bm feedings I'm sure you'll get the ok.
