Upstate NY Babies

Decided on a crib!

We have been around in circles about baby furniture (do we use my nieces?  buy new?)  Well, after lots of research we decided on this one from Ikea:

It got great reviews from Baby Bargains and it's only $99!  The closest IKEA is in Philly but we are going to see if my Aunt & Uncle that live in Delaware will stop and pick it up for us on their next trip up to NY.  If not, it's still cheaper for us to drive to get it than to buy a new one locally.  I'm glad that one big decision is finally over!

  • Nice! We're getting an IKEA crib too.  I love that baby bargains rated them so well.  Plus the bookcase and other furniture in my office (soon to be nursery) are IKEA so we can get the matching crib and and re-use what I already have.

  • Tina where in NY are you? I thought you were in the Buffalo area. If so the one in Hamilton is really easy to get to. We looked at this crib also but decided on one at BRU instead. I really wanted to be able to feel it etc. and we weren't making time for the trip.

  • i love ikea too! i like your crib choice. I was totally wanting a white crib, but I couldn't justify spending the $$ when we already had one for free.

I'm in the Binghamton area, very close to the PA border.  It's about 2-2 1/2 hours to Philly from here.

Baby Bargains only recommends this crib from IKEA.  It's the Gulliver.  It got an "A" in the book but the other cribs from IKEA didn't get good reviews.  Just an FYI!

  • Nice crib! I really like it!
  • great crib...just make sure the day you go you check online to see how many they have - we went to Ikea in pittsburg and they ran out of that crib and it would've cost a ton to ship it to rochester.

We did get some other great stuff while we were there though - baby bedding, curtians, and a bunch of kitchen stuff.

  • Cute crib!  I do wish that we had an Ikea here.
