1st Trimester

tiredness- when does it pass?

So when does the extreme tiredness normally pass? Or doesn't it? I literally go to bed between 7pm-8pm nightly. For those of you who are further along than me or who've had kids before, when did you get some energy back & require less sleep?

Re: tiredness- when does it pass?

  • My doc said that it will last until about 15-16 weeks. I'm with you, I can easily go to bed at 7 pm each night and sleep soundly until about 8 each morning (with only a few wake ups to pee).

  • While I was pg with my DD, my energy level increased a lot around 12 or 13 weeks and that lasted through the entire 2nd tri.  I was exhausted again by the 3rd tri, but it was hard for me to get comfortable in bed at night by that point, so that was a factor, too.

    Hang in there!

  • I'd love to know the answer to this.  This tiredness is like a cruel joke.  I'm exhausted, but for the past few nights, I haven't been able to sleep.  Last night, I got so little sleep that I actually called in "sick".  I can only hope this passes soon.

  • I heard it stays for 1st tri, than you feel great for 2nd than tired for 3rd again:-)

  • I was tired all through my first pregnancy, then the first 2 months of having a newborn, then since she still doesnt really STTN, I'm still tired.  So, I'm convinced the answer is 'never' :)  Sorry!

  • I'm told it gets better in 2nd tri. We shall see...
  • My fatigue started to lift at around 10 weeks. I'm sure it's different for everyone.

Now if the nausea would just go away too Huh?

  • I don't remember being this tired last time.  I think part of it is that I have DD to care for so I can't just go to bed real early.  I'm hoping it will lighten up here in a few weeks.
  • I've been told it lasts til your LO is about 18 yrs old.  :D
  • Still pretty fatigued here.  I'm taking a nap almost every day and have to fight to pull myself out of bed to make dinner for DH and me.  I would love to have some energy back.
