3rd Trimester

I feel so silly.... (2x or more mommies, advice?)

Last night I was laying in bed and DH was feeling DD move and kick and we started talking about how big she's getting in relation to my body because we can feel her all the way across now. (Head on one side, butt on the other....though we're not quite sure which end is which. We just know her back is inthe middle, lol)

All of a sudden I start freaking out because I have to go through labor again and the contractions and the pushing....and what if I can't do it? Even with the epi???

The worst part? This is my second baby. Tongue Tied How dumb do I feel? I felt amazing after I gave birth last time. It was a quick and easy delivery (4 pushes in 20 minutes) and my labor was only 12 hours but I had the epi. I had a minor tear, but I wasn't really sore afterwards. I have no reason to be afraid. It's just silly.

Any other 2nd time mommies find themselves worrying?

  • I am not a second time mommy lol, but I think that with every pregnancy you will worry. Every pregnancy is different and it's scary cause you don't know what to expect. I plan on probably having 2 more kids in the future and I plan on worrying with each of them lol. So don't feel stupid!

  • I seriously have said the exact same thing and feel the exact same way!  I'm terrified!!  I had an easy delivery with my first.  Epi, 20 mins of pushing, 6 hour labor, minor tear.  Very similar to yours and I'm just going nuts this time!!
  • I'm right there with you.  3rd time Mommy here and I am starting to freak out.  With my first I labored for 8 hours and ended up with a c-section.  With my second I labored for 23 hours, pushed for 4 and delivered vaginally (with no pain meds), ripped every which way and then promptly passed out for 2 hours.  I am scared this time.  I am hoping that since I was successful with my VBAC last time that I won't have to labor as long or push as long this time...I know wishful thinking huh?  However, I am refusing to be induced and I won't take an Epi (they tried it 7 times last pregnancy and none of them took, so why waste my money this time around).  So maybe my fears are founded, maybe not...but I am scared.

They "say" that the 2nd time is faster...we better be praying that we make it to the hospital in time, LOL

  • yep totally worry about that stuff.  and what labor will feel like etc-last time i was already at the hospital, dr. broke my water etc.   so i have no idea how i will handle it  being at home and how to figure out when to go etc.  plus after 3 years you really do forget what it all feels like!

So true! My little guy's birthday is 1/6/07, so he's not much older than your LO! I feel like I'm brand new! Hopefully it'll all come rushing back? Liek riding a bike?

We need to get advice from Mrs. Duggar.....lol

  • I worry about whether my water will break, how long I should keep working, and pretty much all the same stuff I worried about the first time around. (it was 5 years ago) The first time around, I was having contractions that were almost close enough to go to the hospital, so I decided to get a shower, ad while in the shower, my water broke. I don't know what I'll do if I have to wait til I'm in the hospital for my water to be broken for me... It just seems so different this time, and all so new.. it's really weird!
  • I'm a 3rd time mommy time, but I felt the exact same way before I had DD. It turns out my labor and delivery were much easier than with DS, and I was induced the second time around. I think it's normal to feel that way, but your body remembers what to do and is much more efficient. Good luck - you'll do great!
