Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Recommend your "no batteries" swing

Our swing pooped out on us and it went through batteries pretty ridiculously.  I know they have some good ones out there that you can plug in.  Anyone got one they like?  TIA

Oh and I don't know why I don't have a ticker anymore but my baby is 3 months 3 weeks and 5 days old.

  • They only one that I've seen with a plug was Fisher Price. I think it was the rainforest model.
  • I hate to tell you this, cause every baby is different, but my son loved the swing at 3.5 months and overnight the swing just didn't work for him anymore.  This late I would probably try something else or get a Fisher Price travel swing (it has batteries, but it's inexpensive) for the time being (unless you plan to have other babies).

  • Agreed, Im worried she will changer her mind like you said. We definitely want more so Im thinking this will be a nice investment hopefully.......unless the next one doesn't like the swing............oh well!
  • We have a FP Papasan swing which is battery-operated, but DH spent about $20 and converted it so that now it uses a plug instead of batteries. Not sure if that's something you are interested in, but it was pretty easy for DH to do and it was way cheaper than what we would have spent on batteries or a new swing.
  • We have the Boppy travel swing & LOVE it!! We didn't have to change the batteries until dd was a little over 3m!
  • We have the FP Zen and it doesn't use batteries. We got it on Baby Earth's Gaga Deals for about $85.
  • This bothers me.  Mine is battery only and besides that problem we love it.  How hard could it be for Graco to put an AC adapter on their infant swings and make my life a little easier?
  • We have the fisher price starlight, but it's pretty girly.
  • Fisher Price Cradle Swing - the one with the canopy that has stars that light up all round it.  My son loves it!

  • the boys love the Sweet Peace soothing center swing.

  • Sweet Pea soothing center.  I got it as a surprise gift (we registered for a travel swing) from my grandma and absolutely love it.  I love the ipod adapter, the music, the speeds, the swaddler, the sun shade....etc. etc.  Mostly I love that the seat detaches and can be used elsewhere in the house.......like when DD has a cold and needs to sleep elevated.

This exactly.  DS loves it.  It goes both forward/backward and side to side.  It also has several different music options.  Some are soothing to put them to sleep while others are upbeat and very playful.  I'll warn you though that sometimes you get that damn music stuck in your head and find yourself singing it.
