everytime I give Sam "our" food even VERY small....he ends up choking... Any Ideas?
Gagging is a very normal part of learning to eat solids - gagging protects him from really choking (if he's choking, he'd be silent and unable to breathe). Gagging is scary but they learn quickly!
We started solids at 6 months, and DS got a real handle of food about 2-3 weeks ago.
So, how he has 4 bottles of 6oz and 1 bottle of 9oz before bed; plus he wakes up and has about 4-5oz during the night.
He has solids 3 times a day. He's eating veggie purees (squash, sweet potato, zucchini, carrots) and fruit purees (apples, plums, pears, bananas), chicken and beef (although he's not too crazy about them yet), yogurt and puffs. Oh, we're starting the #2 foods next week, so more mixes, etc.
If he's gagging I would just continue to offer the table food once or twice a day to get him used to it. DD used to gag when we first started with table food, I haven't noticed it in awhile.
You could also try mashing it rather than cutting it up so it's a different consistency.

Re: What is your 9 month old eating?
Pretty much everything in sight
She eats pancakes, cheerios, diced fruit, cooked veggies, cheese, bread, grilled cheese sandwiches, toast with cream cheese and fruit spread, shredded meat, turkey meatballs, pasta, scrambled egg yolks, yogurt, puffs and yogurt melts. I think I covered everything.

Choking or gagging?

This is exactly where DS is!
