Just curious....
I read all these posts over on 0-6 about new mom's freaking out for various reasons. Nothing in particular, just the things that I know would have upset me when I first had DS.
Now that I have (2) LO's I don't feel the need to get upset because either I've been through it already with DS, or I just don't feel it's that big of a deal Speaking of everyday issues here (sleeping, feedings, diaper changes, etc), not medical/sickness issues where I know we all can feel helpless at times.
Maybe I'm just a laid back person, lol.
Do you think having more than 1 child makes you more laid back and less worrisome (sp?)?
Re: Do you think having more than 1 LO made you more laid back?
I've definitely relaxed a lot more since DS was born. I'm naturally a pretty high strung person, but I think having been through it once has helped. I've also had to accept that some things just aren't possible or at least possible without a huge headache (the *perfect* picture of the kids, always having them dressed just so, a spotless house, etc).
I'm actually hoping I will relax even more once baby #3 is here.

Thanks ladies for responding.
I hate to be rude, but I see some posts on 0-6 and just roll my eyes. Sometimes I can't help myself and post anyways, LOL.
The opposite. I freak out more. 'm not sure why exactly...
I brought Kai to the Pedi when I thought his stub was infected... it fell off the next day... I even took him to the ER already (but that was probably with good cause...)
Rylee has been to the Pedi once (in addition to the well child checks of course) and never been to urgent care/ER...

Spot on!
Yup, and wait until you have 3 - you are super laid back! LOL!
I still worry, but not about the milestones, etc. More about how I'm raising my kids (morals, values, etc.) and my relationship with them.
WAYYYY more laid back with #2 than with #1.
I think that's normal.
2nd time around you know what to expect (to some degree) and you learn not to sweat the small stuff.
You know from experience that a fever and a runny nose is not likely to kill your kid. The first time you ever had a baby with a fever it was scary as hell. I wished that I had a medical degree so I'd feel competent enough to take care of him.
With #2 I knew that I had a "mommy degree" and I could handle him being sick and really know when I needed to get him to a medical professional.
Same with developmental stuff. I compared #1 to others his age and worried about his progression. Now that he's older I see that they all "get there" developmentally. They just have different areas of interest at different times. It doesn't really matter if they do something early or a little late. They'll get there.
I'm really really enjoying their lives and mine. I'm much more laid back.
I'm so so grateful that we got to have 2. There are so many who wish to and will never get to.
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
Yes and no. Yes b/c I wasn't afvraid to break them. Yes b/c witgh #1 I complied data sheets upon data sheets on her eating- how long on each breast, time, etc, sleep, even the activities that we did and how well she liked them. I haven't taken any data on the twins...and to be honest don't typically really know who ate/slept for how long... if they're hungry, they eat, if they're tired they sleep...
No- because the things I am rigid on I am 3 times as inflexible- ie our eveening routine. I am going to be a real joy TO BE around over the holidays!
Yes, but I'm not dealing with PPD this time around, which helps a lot.
ITA with LoveEeyore; I am NOT flexible about bed and nap routines and regularity, and I just don't care how much static I get about it from anybody. THEY aren't the ones who are going to have to try to soothe an overtired baby later!
