Has anyone tried "Intelligender"???

My midwife told me about an over-the-counter gender prediction test called INTELLIGENDER . . .

She's not endorsing it, but said she had a few patients who were trying it and then comparing the results to their 18-week ultra-sound.

Just wondering if anyone has tried it and if it was accurate?!?

(It's $34.95 -- just ordered one.  Couldn't help it!)

  • I haven't tried but the consensus on these boards is that they are a waste of $

check out the google results for previous threads on the bump discussing it

  • Do you think there is somthin in your pee that can tell you the sex of your baby? Don't think so...its a waste of money and many people on here tried it and it was wrong

    DS #2- Taj Lee

    DD #1 Alba Gray

    Baby #4- coming in May

  • mmmm...no. I just waited or used the owt or online gender predicors...they are free! lol let us know if it's right :)

  • It, just like every gender predictor that's NOT an u/s, has a 50/50 chance of being correct.  Don't waste your money.  There is nothing in your urine that can tell you the sex of your baby.

They are starting a blood test that is supposed to be accurate and I've had a few friends who have had it done, and it was correct every time.  But only time will tell if it is actually accurate 99% of the time.

  • I wish I was the one who invented this scam -- I'd be rich!

Of course it's accurate....50% of the time.

  • I would just have patience and wait it out until your big U/S. 50/50 accuracy is not worth the money to me.
  • There are 100s of OWTs that are equally as accurate that you can overanalyze for free!

    Now you've piqued my curiosity...

wonders if the makers of Intelligender are a publicly traded company........

  • Yeah ... I haven't heard that it worked for anyone and yes, because of that I've heard that it's not necessarily $30 + well spent ...
  • It's a waste of money. Why do it? Ok great it says you are having a boy, but the chances of it being right are 50% so you are back to square one. If you could find out the gender by using urine, OB's would have this test readily available in their offices.

  • You can send me a check for $30 (I'm cheaper) and I'll tell you the sex.
  • We tried it for laughs and giggles.. But the results came back wrong!!

It said we were having a Boy but we are having a Little Girl.. =)..

  • I did try it. Mine showed a girl. I won't have my u/s until Nov so we'll see if mine was true. Either way... it's JUST FOR FUN!
  • I did it just for fun and it was right. I was too impatient and couldn't wait for an u/s. Would I do it again? Probably not, because even when I got the result I knew that there was a very good likelihood that it was wrong, so in the end I still had to wait for the u/s to tell us what we were having.
  • I did it at 10 weeks and it said boy, and it was confirmed at 16 and 18 weeks!

Only the girls of the bump seem to think this is only 50/50.  I wouldn't trust it 100% of course (as the instructions say don't go painting the room pink or blue), but it gives impatient people like me a lean one way or another.

  • I trust wives tales more than I would that...but I can see why people do it for fun.
  • Based on what I've read:

It's supposedly based on the pH levels in your urine and the premise that pH levels help decide the outcome of the baby's gender.

Your pH levels at the time of the test may or may not be the same as they were when you conceived.

This MIGHT account for the fact that the company claims 80% or whatever accuracy.

DH and I didn't try one.. we just waited out the anatomy ultrasound.

Same here - just for fun and won't find out until Oct. 15th if it is correct!  Did not base anything on it except laughs and more conjecture!  It said boy, and the box does say it's 82% effective in the public (90% in the lab).  If you have already bought it - have fun!!

If being a math nerd is wrong, I don't wanna be right!
