Infertility

met users come in please!

so i am impatient. i started prometrium and glumetza (slow acting met/glucaphage combo) 8/22 after two failed clomid cycles this summer... got AF 9/2. had the glumetza doubled and my insulin reduced 9/21 (because despite my docs assurance it effected my sugars GREATLY and is continuing to...but i got sick this week so i am naturally running high).

ladies on met/glyburide/glucaphage/glumetza (whichever lol)...how long did it take for your cycle to regulate? doc says 3-6 months (As does the internet)...but when i went in for my 9/21 he was persistent my cycel would start up...he made it sound like it would be sooner than the 3-6 months...

any thoughts or experiences are appreciated! thanks!!

Re: met users come in please!

  • I have been on it for 8 weeks, this is my 9th. I ovulated last month and am getting ready to again, although my cycles are long, today is CD31. My RE said it could be 3-6 months as well. Try to be patient, I really think the Met will give results, it just takes time. I want to give it a chance to work before we do our next IUI.

  • I've been on my met for 6 weeks now and I still haven't gotten AF. I can't tell you if I am ovulating or not because I haven't been using OPK's.  My RE told me not to bother to chart because my temps are all over the place and to be honest I was thankful!  All I can tell you is AF was supposed to come 4 weeks ago and still hasn't shown. Good luck. I know it sucks being patient but that's about all we can do unfortunately.
