s/o dressing kids - clicky poll

I ask this because I let my son leave the house in whatever he wants.  He wears his Cars slippers in public often because he loves them.  Today we went to Meijer in his superman cape.  I get stares from some people (looks of disapproval) and some people comment on how adorable he looks.

Just curious.

  • if my kid wants to wear a frog outfit grocery shopping, so be it.  i think its cute, and if they want to, i will let them.  i think it fosters creativity.

(i mean if there is 10 ft of snow outside thats another story)

playing dress-up will always be allowed  even if he wants to dress up as liza minelli

  • Absolutely!  If Lil wants to wear her tutu and cowgirl boots or dress up like Charlie Chaplin, she will most def be allowed to.  Why not??

Now if its a dressy function like a wedding or something like a funeral, that's where I would draw the line.

  • if they're 2-5ish in age, i think it's adorable! and i agree with pp that it shows creativity and imagination! however, if my 9 yr old wants to, I would find it weird.
