We will be teen green for this one!! We found out with DD and it was nice to know, but I want the surprise at birth this time!! All the big stuff we bought was gender neutral so it will work for the next one!  DH kind of wants to find out, but agreed not to.  The baby will be in our room in a pack and play so no need to decorate a room!!

    okay your updated! thanks

  • We are going to find out the gender.  There are just so many things to buy and I don't want everything to be green or yellow.  I am definitely a planner and the hubby is just too impatient to wait so we think it's best that we find out!
  • QOTD: So, DH and I went back and forth with this for a while, but I think we've decided to find out. One of us really wants a girl and the other really wants a boy, and while it doesn't matter either way, I personally will need some time to digest the news. And I'm a planner. I would go insane not finding out. GL to everyone that is on Team Green, you're way more hardcore than I wille ver be! Smile

  • QOTD: No we are NOT going to find out, so you can mark me TEAM GREEN!! This is a very mutual decision. Neither of us wants to find out. We think it's way more fun not to know until the delivery room, the good old fashioned way. We are not planners at all, so not knowing does not phase us in the least. We don't need gender specific stuff to make us feel ready. Plus, we can get gender specific stuff after the baby is born. As for our families, they think it's fun we don't want to know.

  • QOTD: We are definitely going to find out!  I love very "boyish" or "girlish" baby stuff, so we can't wait to go completely one way or the other!  I completely understand how people want to be surprised though, I love surprises :-)  Just in this case we both REALLY want to know the gender!
  • QOTD  Are you going to find out the gender of the baby?  No! TEAM GREEN BABY!

Who's choice was it, mutual? yours and you convinced him or vice versa? We decided to make a compromise. We go team green this time, and next time (when we need to know where or not we need new clothing and stuff) we will find out.

What does your family say about your choice? It was our decision not theirs and I don't care what they say.

  • Happy Monday Everyone!

YES, we are planning on finding out the gender of the baby.  Both of us are so very excited and can't wait to start buying things for the baby and want to personalize it as much as possible :-)

  • QOTD:  If it is one baby we are not going to find out the gender.  If it twins then we will find out the genders. Wierd, I know, but I swear there is more than one in there!!!  I don't have my first appointment until Sept. 10th, then we'll see if doc wants to order an ultrasound.    I personally want to know!!!

  • Busy day at work today!

QOTD: We both want to know and we didn't even really discuss it at all, LOL.  I don't think anyone really cares if we find out or not.  We haven't decided yet if we're going to tell people the sex when we find out.  DH says it depends on how much people are bugging us, i.e. if you bug is too much, you might not get to find out until the baby is born:)

  • Hi Everyone!

Another one for TEAM GREEN! My husband and I are happy to keep the world guessing until our baby arrives. I wouldn't want to deprive my friends and relatives of the opportunity to take part in a baby gender pool. Just kidding. As for how we came to the decision, my husband and I simply agreed. Our families are just so thrilled (first grandchild for both sets of parents) that they are keeping mum and are happy to respect our decision. After all, that's how they chose to do it, too!

Looking forward to my first official check-up with my GP on Sept. 16. My GP has been fantastic taking care of me this far into the pregnancy, but I will need to let her know who I would like to take care of me and the baby from that point onward. That's right, I have yet to choose an OB-GYN!

We've elected not to tell our extended family and friends until we're safely into the 2nd Trimester, so have had to rule out asking for OB-GYN recommendations in case they put two and two together. How did you choose your Obstetrician?

So far, no morning sickness - just extreme smell aversions (coffee, bacon!) and incredible fatigue. I used to be so active, working out 5 to 7 days/week, but can barely manage to do half hour workouts now. I feel like such a slug! Can any of you relate? Sigh...

  • Please add me to the April Moms: meganneier - Megan - 4/23/10

I wanted to wait until our first ultrasound today to join. We saw the heartbeat and everything looks good!

As for finding out the gender...I want it to be a surprise, but my husband wants to find out. I think I'm going to give him this one b/c he's asked a bunch of times when we can find out. Big Smile

  • We are team GREEN!

     50/50 decision

  • QOTD:  Yes, we are going to find out the gender.  DH and I are both in agreement that we will find out---there is NO WAY I could wait until the day of delivery!  I am too much of a planner and couldn't stand not knowing.

Update:  I have my first appt. this Wednesday, so I am excited for that.  We are telling our parents this weekend, so that will be fun.  =)

  • QTD: With two girls already...We are TOTALLY going to find out. I want to know if I need buy boy clothes or if we're all set. I really hope for a boy but I'd love another girl just as well.

  • team green so far, it might change at the 20 week check up.

  • QOTD: Yes, we are going to find out the gender.  When we first talked about it, before we were even pregnant, I didn't think I wanted to, but DH did.  After I thought about it for awhile and now that I am pregnant, I definitely want to find out, the sooner the better!  Not all of our family knows about our decision yet, but the ones that do haven't said anything about it.

UPDATE:  We had our 2nd u/s on Friday & saw the little babe & his/her heartbeat & then got to hear the heartbeat!!!  It was so amazing!!!  It was beating at 118bpm @ 7 weeks.  And I officially graduated from the RE!!!  So I have an appointment to meet with the midwives that I'm considering using tonight & I'll make my decision between midwives vs. OB.  Also, m/s is still here in full force & making me miserable.  Sea bands & keeping food in my stomach pretty much constantly are the only things that sometimes help.  As soon as I decide on a doctor I will be asking about Zofran.

  • Update after U/S:Had 2nd U/S this morning - EDD was changed to 4/24/10.

QOTD: Team Green for DH and I. It was a mutal decision because, as we see it, God only gives us so many surprises like this in our life time, why not wait it out and enjoy the moment when it comes? Plus, we love the idea of doing the nursery in greens, yellows, browns and whites. Just beautiful. :) It's driving our friends and family NUTS. More than one person has said, "Oh, you need to find out. How else are you going to bond with it?" Pishaw, right. Like I can't love my DC until I know whether he's a he or she's a she. Good grief. :) So, darling Jenni, could you please put a big Team Green! next to my name. GRACIAS! :)

  • The first time I checked in, I must have given the wrong due date because I am due on April 9th, not April 8th.? I had my first u/s today and am measuring at exactly 8 weeks 3 days so my due date has stayed the same. I do plan finding out the gender as soon as possible. I am so excited to find out and to start shopping accordingly.?
  • We found out the gender with DD, and we will do the sames with this baby. Like pp said I think it's a surprise no matter when you find out. If we are having a boy this time I want to know, so I can spread out buying clothes instead of all at once. I also am not fond of gender neutral clothing exclusively for the 1st 3 months or so.
  • Update: I went to the OB today for my 8 week appointment. It went well. She was going to let us hear the heartbeat, but during the exam said that my uterus is tilted back, so we wouldn't hear it and she didn't want to try. If she tried and didn't hear anything, she didn't want us to worry. Things looked good though. Did bloodwork for them to run all the tests and chatted with the doctor. I have several prenatal vitamins to try and report back to them. My due date is still the same, so no changes there. Now, I feel more comfortable going out and buying books and we're going to start telling more family! I can't wait! QOTD: We go back and forth as to if we're going to find out the sex. Some days we want it to be a surprise and others we want to know. It is just something we'll have to talk more about....

QOTD: We will be finding out the gender. We never thought we would, always wanted it to be a surprise and now that it's real we can't wait!

  • Hi there!!  I'd love to be added to the list!  My bump name info is:

Suzi2tie, Suzanne, age 28, due date April 13th

We are going to find out the sex of the baby.  I think it will help me to be more at ease with preparations, etc... although, before it was a decision I was really faced with, I always thought I would want to be surprised!!

  • QOTD: You can mark me as Team Green!! I won the argument with DS and found out, but this time, I promised DH we wouldn't find out. As of now, I am actually excited for that...this way I can say that we tried it both ways...found out with one, and not the other...the best of both worlds!! We haven't told family members yet, but they will be happy with that. That's how we had planned it the first time around and they didn't care one way or another...some were just shocked that we had the patience to wait (Which I didn't then, but will now!).

  • QOTD: Are you going to find out the gender of the baby? YES! Who's choice was it, mutual? mutal What does your family say about your choice? i think that having our 1st child at our age, they don't really give it a thought.

update on me--we had a follow-up u/s this last week at 7w2d, b/c at the 1st u/s the dr. had concerns b/c the yolk sac was smaller than he wanted to see and my 3rd hcg beta was only 1/2 what he wanted to see (800-1000). well, the follow-up u/s went very well, the baby showed a full week's growth from the week before and the heartbeat went up from 118 bpm (1st u/s) to 138 bpm (2nd u/s). my hcg was much closer to what he wanted to see me (no where near 1/2 of where he wanted it). we do have another one this week (RE is very conservative), and will not have one for a while after that, if the baby continues to show good progress.

  • For now we are TEAM GREEN and we are not finding out. I like the idea of the surprise. DH originally wanted to find out, but I think he is convinced that not finding out will be fun too. Not sure what our families will think of this choice as we haven't told anyone yet.

  • Hey all!

Please change my EDD from 4/8/10 to 4/15/10.  Had 1st appointment with u/s last Thursday--all looks good and that heartbeat is the most amazing thing ever!

QOTD:  Mark me as Team Green.  It's always been sort of an unspoken thing between hubby and I that we'd wait.  We're suckers for a surprise. :)

  • Hey I need my due date changed to April 11th ( it was the 1st). We just found out today that I am 8 weeks and 3 days but everything looks good.

    QOTD:

We will find out what we are having, I don't have the patience to wait. DH wanted to wait but I convinced him that we should find out so we can make arrangements for it. I have been toying with the idea of just us knowing what the baby is, but now that we find out December 1 I am thinking of using it as a Christmas present.

  • QOTD: Are you going to find out the gender of the baby? YES, and can't wait!!   Who's choice was it, mutual? mutal, we are both Blue or Pink kind of people :)  What does your family say about your choice? They totatly agree....if it is a girl they want to buy dresses and dolls, if it is a boy then they want to get boy stuff :)  They can't wait either!!

  • QOTD  Are you going to find out the gender of the baby? If you aren't and want me to mark TEAM GREEN next to your name let me know! Who's choice was it, mutual? yours and you convinced him or vice versa? What does your family say about your choice?

Nope. Team Green!! It was my idea, DH hasn't gotten all the way on board yet, but I think I can convince him.  We haven't mentioned it to family yet, so who knows. But I think it will be fun to not know.

  • We are absolutely finding out the sex.... I could not wait till the end, I would explode with curiosity. It was a mutual decision for us and I think my parents would be upset if we didnt... Dh's family would be fine either way.

I like to be able to plan and not have a whole closet of yellow and green.

  • I just wanted to give you all an update for the check-in.  My EDD date is different from what I estimated (finally went to see the doctor).  My new EDD is 4/20/2010 (instead of 4/25).

Are you going to find out the gender of the baby? If you aren't and want me to mark TEAM GREEN next to your name let me know! Who's choice was it, mutual? yours and you convinced him or vice versa? What does your family say about your choice?

H and I are definately finding out the sex of our baby.  I am too "type A" not to be able to buy/prepare for my baby.  H keeps joking with me how impatient I am about the sex of this baby.  The decision is mutual.  He wants to know too.  Our family is all for knowing the sex; my moms keeps trying to find ways to know sooner, lol!

  • We will definitely find out the gender.  We did with my daughter too.  My husband and I are in full agreement, so luckily I didn't have the lay down the law on that one.  I think our families like getting to know sooner.
  • mandy_mary- Amanda- 25- April 16th

    Thanks for adding me!

  • QOTD: It was never a question - we will definitely find out the sex. We want to be able to decorate the nursery, pick out a name, & have everything ready for when the baby arrives. I don't like surprises and am an anxious person so there's no way I'd be able to wait 9 months!
