Morning Everyone! Here is our check-in for everyone with a due date in April 2010. If you would like to be added please post your bump name ? real name ? age and your EDD (expected delivery date). If I missed you at the last check in please post again.

If anything has changed, like your EDD after the U/S please post an update with your original EDD so I can easily find you on the list

If you are listed in the due date needed list, please update your due date for me so that I can add you to the correct date.

Check-ins will be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday by 9am EST. Feel free to check-in any time that day. Give us a general update on your progress and anything else you want to add! We will have a question of the day as well. There will also be a link to the check-in posted sometime after 3pm EST on M, W, and F. Also Fridays is bump photo day so even if you got a bump of bloat post it here with pride!

Group Name suggestions will start on September 7th, yes I realize this is labor day and many of you will not be around, when I asked on Wednesday I didn't realize it was labor day. So the tentative plan is that after the check in on Monday I will post a 2nd post called "April Moms group name suggestion" I'll list all the names that have been given, its no a secret and I can post it now if you'll really want... its just sometimes someone will suggest a name here at check in or I see it in another post and yes at the beginning of August we did have a group name post but we decided to wait until September to allow as many April Moms a chance to chime in and vote. Anyways, so I'll keep this suggestion post going through Wednesday. Wednesday night I'll group all the names and post a poll. I have to do it at night b/c I can't create polls at work so I have to do them at home. So everyone will vote and then probably the following Monday (well Sunday night) I'll repost with another poll that will hopefully determine the winner. To make it fair I'm going to group the names into "April Names" "Religious Names" "Seasonal Names" etc so what I'm hoping is in the end we'll have one from each group and it'll make it the most fair.

QOTD: ?We are going to find out the gender. ?I don't want to go completely gender specific with everything I buy, but there is so much baby stuff out there that is gender specific, so I would rather know. ?I'm a planner.

Plus, in my opinion, you still get a surprise, whether you find out at 20 weeks or at 40 weeks. ?But thats just me. ?:o)?

Happy Monday Smile

We are Team Green (Jennicap you can mark it!). This was an almost 50/50 decision, DH wants to find out, but he likes surprises too, and he understands my reasoning. I feel like if you find out the gender, you know the name, you practically know what the kid looks like because of u/s, so the kid is practically born before its born, you know? My family is split, my parents aren't taking sides, but my sisters all want us to find out. Well guess what, they don't get a vote!

Happy Monday everyone. . .

I'm looking forward to my first doctor's appt tomorrow. . . no ultrasound, but a full checkup and a chance to ask any questions, etc. Seems like it took forever to get here.

QOTD: Yes, we are going to find out this time. . . we didn't find out with our DS. My DH wanted to, but I really wanted to wait. He was fine with waiting -- and it was great to hear "it's a boy" when he was born. But this time, I know that my DH would really like to know, so I'm okay with finding out. And it will be nice to know if I get to buy all kinds of girlie clothes!!

Question: Is anyone else having the itches? I'm itching everywhere, arms, legs, shoulders, back, etc. I neglected to mention this during my appt last week b/c I was just overwhelmed w/info (this must by why they say to write stuff down). I'm hoping its just a fleeting hormonal thing.

I am totally itchy! all over, specially my legs which i find odd! I didn't ask the midwife either but am trying to increase my fluid intake and lotion nightly.

Yes, we will be finding out the gender. It was a mutual decision between us - we've always talked about knowing. Our family STILL does not know about our pregnancy, so I don't know what they think about our decision. We will be telling our parents this Saturday as we move into our new house.

QOTD: I don't want to find out the gender but DH does. Right now we have no idea how this will work, as DH can't keep a secret. I like the idea of being surprised at the birth!

I have friends who have done both and it seems that people who don't find out the gender get more things at their baby showers (bottles, big gifts like strollers and car seats) than those who know the gender (they seem to get clothes).

Right now we have quite a few weeks to get things figured out so who knows what we may decide!

We are going to be "Team Green" feel free to mark it! Its more for DH than for me but I feel like since he feels so strongly about NOT finding out that I will let him have that say in the pregnancy. I am hoping that with future children he will agree to find out though, I like planning and its kind of hard to do everything gender neutral (bc I am sure I will end up "rebuying" things once baby is born!)

Our families don't even know we are pregnant yet so they haven't had a chance to give us any input.

We feel like there is so much that is unexpected the first time around and that knowing the baby's gender will make the process more fun and give us more of a planning direction to be prepared for our little one;)

Happy Monday ladies!

QOTD: We found out the gender with our DS and will with this child too. We discussed it a lot last time around and ultimately decided that having the child was a big enough deal the day of the birth, we thought we could forsake being surprised about the sex. We NEVER regretted it. It was awesome being able to use "he" and not "it." We also didn't have any trouble with getting too many gender clothes. In fact, I hardly got any clothes at all.

Other than that, not much. I have my first appt. on Friday and I'm ready. We'll tell our parents this weekend. Finally!

QOTD: TBD still. I thought we both wanted to find out the sex, but apparently my DW told my parents she wants to be surprised. So the topic is back on the table for discuss. The good thing, for us, about waiting is it would force our family to buy gender neutral gifts. If our families new the sex I fear we'd end up with all princess stuff or all sports stuff.

Update: My ticker changed on Saturday and I totally forgot! LOL. It's nice to see the new ticker today. M/S is virtually gone except, brushing my teeth is still difficult...I don't know what it is!

QOTD: We are going to find out, because I'm a total planner and HATE to be in the dark. I am going to try to stay somewhat gender neutral, but I have a friend who's got a lot of baby girl stuff she's going to hand down if it's a girl, and another friend who's got a lot of baby boy stuff...so I really need to know prior to so I can know which friend to hit up for free stuff, LOL. My DH was in agreement with me 100% so it was a 50/50 decision. Our family's would have been happy either way.

QOTD: My husband and I have always said we were going to find out. We are both super impatient and mega planners. Both our families are in FULL support of this - though they all have opinions and *think* they "know" the sex of the baby already! :-)

Regardless of the sex we are going to buy gender neutral baby gear so it can be used for future children, but I want the nursery to be set up for a little boy or a little girl as well as having gender specific baby clothes.

At this point, we are going to be surprised. DH really wants to find out the sex but I feel like this is the last true surprise for both of us. Lately our friends and family members surprised everybody on the name and sex and it was great getting that phone call. DH is going along with me but I know he wants me to change my mind!

okay everyone is up to date.

and to answer my own question: I am TEAM GREEN and have been from almost day 1! I think its such a beautiful miracle and when else can this happen? It makes us look forward to the birth even more. We named the baby "cookie" for now so it helps with the connection that some people say they lack without knowing the gender. We already decided the colors of the nursery and we found bedding we like, if it goes out of season then I'll have my mother make use a quilt to match the colors. I also plan on having more kids so gender neutral is the best option for us. DH wanted to know and I told him he could find out but I don't want him to tell me and I'll be upset if he slips. He's a bad secret keeper so he agreed not to find out.

For the most part, the family is supportive of this. My mother freaked out and said IF YOU FIND OUT I WANT TO KNOW and I was like oh okay. I guess one of my sisters found out but wouldn't tell anyone. I had no idea lol but I promised her I'm not finding out! A few people have spoken against it but I just say "What exactly can you plan?" I don't want a pink or blue room and I don't need all pink dresses or blue overalls in the closet. I already saw a gender neutral stroller/carseat set that DH & I both like. PLUS it'll be easy for people to buy gifts after the baby is born, I'll get a crap load of gender specific clothes for gifts then!

QOTD: We are not finding out (team green!). My mom didn't find out for any of the four of us, so she has no problem with our decision. Nobody else knows that I'm pregnant except for some friends, none of whom care.

ETA: at first DH wanted to know, but he wasn't too hard to convince. We are, however, going to have the doctor write it on a note card and seal it in an envelope, so that we can change our minds if we decide to!

QOTD: We will be finding out the gender. It was a mutual decision, although I used to think I wouldn't want to find out. It is clear from the browsing we have done so far in baby departments that they don't make a lot of gender neutral clothing. Our families support our decision to find out -- I think they are just as excited as we are. My parents have five grandsons already, so I know they are hoping for a girl. I haven't told them that I am hoping for a boy, but we would certainly be happy with either!

In other news, we have an ultrasound appointment today and hope to see the heart beat! I won't be able to concentrate at all today at work...

QOTD: We are finding out. We were Team Green the first time around which wasn't our choice (hospital here won't do it and there was no independant u/s companies). This time there is a place here for 3D ultrasounds and we will be taking advantage.

Update: we told both parents and my BIL (&family) this weekend. Made it feel a little more real and DD is starting to really understand the whole concept, although she is adamant we are having a baby sister

Happy Monday!!!!

We haven't really discussed on finding out the gender but i want to and i think DH wants to... So im sure we will be finding out at the 20 Week u/s

We are not going to find out. So, you can add me to team green!!! DH has been insistant on not finding out since before I was PG. It took me some convincing, but I'm OK with the decision. As long as the baby is healthy is all that matters to me. Now, that being said, I am such a planner and I cannot stand surprises, so it's going to be hard for me not to know. Both of our families have been quite supportive in our decision, so we're glad for that!!!

IDK when we knew that we'd find out, but it's been known this entire PG that we would find out. There are discussions of finding out and not telling anyone, but that's still undecided.

No one knows we're PG yet except one friend and it kind of reassured me of the idea that I want to tell everyone we're not finding out. Her first words were "OMG I bet you're praying for a boy." I just told her we're praying for a healthy baby and the sex is an afterthought, we don't really care.

Yes we will be finding out the sex, if baby wants to show us..lol. I need to know what to buy, and I dont like secrets...waiting until 21 weeks to find out is hard enough!

QOTD: We are finding out. At first i didn't want to find out, my SIL did this with both my niece and nephew and just waiting until that day to hear what the sex was was just amazing... for me as an aunt, i can only imagine my SIL and Brother. However, DH wants to know. and knowing that i'm a planner and like gender specific things he found a way to convince me. Using words like a pink nursery, pink clothing... so on and so forth. I obviously wasn't to set in it being a surprise because i gave in pretty quickly lol. Honestly though i don't think i would make it till birth day to find out... i'm to impatient.
