I had my DD beside me on the couch. I reached over her to grab the remote and dropped it on her head.
She instantly started crying and then I cried too. It was horrible. Didn't even leave a mark though.
Then, if that weren't bad enough, she slipped from my grip in the tub, fell back and hit her head on the edge of the baby tub. She didn't cry that time, and she barely hit it cause I had her other arm held, but it, again, was really horrible.
Bad mom coming through!
Re: What's the worst thing YOU'VE done to your LO (accidently, of course)?
I took sweet corn in from my aunt?s farm to my coworkers while I was on maternity leave so I took DS with me to show him off to my coworkers. I accidentally knocked him in the head with the cobs of corn and of course he let out a cry in the office. It wasn?t that loud but I felt awful and plus I did it in front of people.
this!

I did this too...but worse...this is horrible because it was so dangerous...I took DD to the mall, and whenever we are gonna be somewhere for a long time, I undo or loosen her seatbelt (I had her carseat in the travel system)...and I totally forgot to rebuckle it on the way home. When we got home, I went to take her out and her buckles were all undone
I felt like the worse mother in the wolrd!

I thought I was soooo smart by never wearing my engagement ring to avoid injuries...until I scrated him with my fingernail. Nicked him right on the shoulder and drew blood. He did the lip out type of cry and it broke my heart. Poor little guy, I still feel bad about it.
Off to clip my fingernails...
I bathe my baby every 5-6 days.

I put DD on the couch so I could go into the kitchen to make her bottle. I heard her start to cry so I went back into the living room and our dog had jumped on the couch over her. I dont think he stepped on her, but it scared the crap out of me...and her.
I was getting the infant carrier our of my car with my diaper bag on my shoulder... as soon as I grabbed it the diaper bag smashed him in the face. It didn't seem to phase him.
DH was holding him (not very well) and leaned over on the couch to pick up his computer... well DS fell about a foot and smashed his head off the computer. He didn't make a peep and kept on sleeping so DH started freaked because he thought he knocked him out. lol. But he was fine. The kid sleeps like rock.
Two instances:
1) I cut her toe pretty bad the first time I was trimming her toenails! She screamed for a minute or so and then was fine. I on the other hand was convinced she would never stop bleeding.
2) I was changing her diaper once in the living room on the foot rest of our recliner (did this all the time when she was very little and could still fit on there). I dropped something and was an idiot and went to pick it up and when I leaned over my feet pushed the foot rest down...with DD on it! Luckily I grabbed her before she hit the floor so she was just kind of jerked downward for a millisecond...she didn't even realize it. Didn't cry...and this is the kid who would cry if you looked at her the wrong way back then. So I didn't feel too bad...but I stopped changing her there!
DH did that in the hospital the first time he cut her nails! Poor baby.. and he also accidentally hit her head with the remote. Luckily she was asleep and didn't wake up but I still felt horrible.
We were watching a movie one night and DH had to turn the surround sound way up for the DVD because it played really quiet. So when we switched it back to the tv, we forgot it was turned up full blast and it was LOUD. Poor DD got a blank shocked look on her face, then started crying. I felt sooo bad for her! If it hurt my ears I know it had to hurt her little ears.
When he was really little and I walked around with him cradled in my arms, I bumped his poor little head on the sides of doorways a handful of times before I finally got the hang of how much "wider" he made me when we were walking around. He never cried, but I still felt awful.
I did this after church one day! I felt horrible when I went to get her out and saw my mistake!

I was changing LO's poopy diaper and when using the wipe I accidentally cut him right by his butt hole with my nail. It looked awful. I learned that the skin is very tender down there...doesn't take much to cut into it. It healed really quick though, about a day. Must not have been as bad as it looked.
LOL at hurting his feelings.
You're too cute.
I did this too. I felt sooo bad. Not to mention, it was right before a pedi appt and I was paranoid that she would think that we were abusing her.
