I'm sure we've all heard fans reduce the risk of SIDS signficantly. We have a small room and will probably be moving in the next year or so and decided against a ceiling fan. I bought a floor/pedestal fan but even on low it seemed to blow so much air on the crib, i dont know which is the lesser of two evils. What are you doing if you dont have a ceiling fan in the nursery?
Re: if you dont have a ceiling fan are you getting a floor fan for LO's room?
We did a small floor fan until we installed our ceiling fan. Cfs can be cheap, so that's what we ended with. When DD is swaddled, she runs hot and the fan, pushing the air down made a huge difference.
Can you angle your floor fan so that it's not blowing directly into the crib? Maybe even aim it at the ceiling so that the air that's coming down is just what bounces off?

I would get a smaller table fan that oscilates.... trust me, the white noise is sooo soo helpful. It is a must have for my toddler and the new baby as well.
GL!
We have a ceiling fan in the room already.
Also, its college move in time, so you may be able to find some fans now "dorm room sized"
