I've been feeling guilty because I never play kids music in my car for my 16 month old. We listen to kids CDs at home sometimes but they drive me crazy and I just can't do it in the car. So we listen to regular music or my ipod most of the time - I figure I'm trying to develop an appreciation of regular music for my daughter!
Occasionally I'll turn to the classical radio station for a little bit but I always get tired of it and go back to the stations I like (pop, country, christian).
Just curious, do others listen to kids music with your toddlers in your car?
Re: POLL: What music do you have on in the car?
So-- we don't play kids tunes. It's all what is on the radio or on my iPod.
ben folds mostly. or the ben folds pandora station. but i figure timmy must love it b/c he heard it so often in utero. hell, i went to a ben folds concert on my due date! timed contractions the entire time. if that isn't a dedicated fan i don't know what is!!
we also listen to a fair amount of musicals. my degree is in musical theatre after all! when he gets older i'm sure we'll listen to disney. i not so secretly love that stuff.
I never listen to kids music. I listen to oldies so that's what she hears in the car.
Am I supposed to be playing kids music for her?
Local Christian radio station, or country

I am kinda embarrassed to admit this, but... we rock out to Lady GaGa, FloRida, Britney Spears and DS's fav Beyonce. He bobs his head and dances. He doesn't understand the words, he just likes the beat. It also helps to keep me sane!
I have a kids CD in my car. I usually only put it on if we're going somewhere where we'll be in the car for a while and I want to keep him entertained. For the most part, when he's in the car with me, we're going somewhere within a 5-15 minute radius of the house, and I usually put on what I like to listen to (classic rock, oldies, pop).
We also have a Baby Einstein CD that we play for him in the house sometimes. We sing along with him and if it's a song that has hand motions, we do them. He's a kid, I do think it's important to be exposed to some children's music....but I don't think it's all he needs to listen to.
we have satellite radio (it's free! my friend gave us a reciever with unltd. service) and i listen to either the oldies station or the 90s, the softer pop station, or country. it has kids stations but i'm avoiding those for as long as i can get away with.
she has a couple baby einstein cds in her room, but i only play those at nap and bed time. lol
I listen to what I want....I may have to stop that though. My 2yr old was in her crib singing "Love me, hate me, what'cha want 'bout me, if you seeka me...."
H was not happy. I thought it was funny until she did it in front of strangers.
We have all the Rockabye CD's (I love them too LOL) and a couple kids cd's from Land of Nod that we play in her room for naps/bedtime. But in the car and other times we listen to pop/current music, some oldies, 80's, etc. She loves the music I listen to...she dances to Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, the Black Eyed Peas and Kings of Leon
I couldn't stand to listen to kids music in the car.
We listen to whatever I have on the radio, typically a pop/alternative station, or my ipod. I don't even own any kid CD's. I typically just sing kid songs with him.
I do not listen to children's music and neither do my kids.
I usually play punk rock, and when that's not on, I am listening to 90s alternative.
If Matthew's picking: horrible, horrible country music.
If I'm picking: hodgepodge of pop and Broadway.
If we're compromising: Billy Joel, 70's classic rock, Queen.
We're taking a music class. the gave us cds. I have them in the car.
My son LOVES Johnny Cash's children's album
I play the Beatles and U2 for him a lot.
I think most 'kids' music is crap. I want to expose my son to good music.

We listen to kids CDs sometimes in my car. When DS is w/ DH they listen to mostly hip hop, rap, 60's & 70's soul or R&B, DC Go-Go, and DS's 50% Jamaican side dictates he must love Bob Marley.
In my car it's Veggie Tales, Sunday Sing Along Songs, Michael Buble, or we surf a bunch of oldies, soft rock, classic rock stations. DS's 50% Texan side has him loving George Strait and Stevie Ray Vaughn also.
He's got a good music mix going on. Basically if it's anything we turn on loud and he can bop and dance to it, he's happy.
We don't own a kids cd of any kid, in the car or elsewhere. I just can't handle the stuff.
In the car, currently in my 6-cd changer, we have: an MP3 with a few different albums of Kings of Leon, then we have Lady Gaga, Slipknot, 3 Doors Down, Disturbed, Metallica, and a few others albums (some are together on MP3 cd's, and some are single albums). But except for Lady Gaga and some trance/dance cd DH likes, they're all pretty heavy rock/metal.
Evan is a big fan of Disturbed and if it comes on he asks for it to go louder...lol
I never play kids CD's in the car...we mostly listen to Rock, Dance, R & B and country. My new kick lately though has been Lady Gaga...but we also listen to alot of Toby Keith
