Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Does weight gain slow down after 6 months?

I was thinking of trying to get ds some summer clothes for next year and debating about the size. He has been consistently 1 size behind.  So next year when he is 18 months I think he would only wear 12 months.  Or is it not worth it to even try and guess for a year away?

  • Lili has always been one size behind until she hit a year. Now she's fitting into 12-18 month clothes. You never know if he will go through a huge growth spurt, so I would wait.

  • I would wait because you never know when they will hit a growth spurt.  DD wore her 3 month clothes until she was 6 months and now she is in 9 months clothes, she she grew fast in the past 4 months.
  • I would wait - I know it's hard, all the cute stuff is on sale now!!!! I did buy some 24 month t-shirts for next year (since it's warm into the fall sometimes) but I'm holding off on pants, etc.
  • Wait. I got burned trying to do the same thing. I didn't buy a whole lot, but what I did get was used way before the summer months.

  • I wouldn't buy clothes ahead of time for DS.  He's huge...he's in 18-24 month clothes right now, so trying to guess how he'll change a year from now is too difficult.  I wouldn't want to waste money on stuff he may not be able to wear and I won't be able to return.
