When we go out we rarely order DS#!1 his own meal. I swear every time we actually pay for something for him, he won't eat it. I usually bring him things to eat or he'll pick off our plates. When did you consistently start to order a separate meal that they actually eat?
Re: When did you start ordering a meal for DC?
We started ordering off the kids menu when DS was 11 months old. He loves to eat though and normally almost finishes the whole meal! I probably wouldn't order him his own if he didn't eat it though.
We started ordering him his own meal when we went to Denver with DH for work as few weeks ago; I couldn't bring as much as I usually would that week. He surprised us by doing really well with his kids' meals! Ate more than our 3-year-old nephew. Prior to that, the only thing we'd ordered for him was a sweet potato and some shredded cheese.
He gets his own meal when we go out now, whether it's at Panera, Long Horn, or Jimmy John's.

Zachary has food allergies, so we always pack him something to eat when we go out. We actually almost never leave home without a meal packed in case we get tied up somewhere and have to eat out.
If we have something we're sure is "safe" on our plate, we'll also share that.
Same, and if he doesn't finish something I will bring it home and he has it the next day for lunch. I try to order foods that will reheat well for those times he doesn't finish the meal.
Probably around a year. He usually eats most of it, and what he doesn't eat can be his lunch the next day.
Yesterday at a turnpike rest stop he devoured a small fry and two chicken tenders, an entire kids' meal. And then ate a full dinner, very full, three hours later.
Ditto...
Unless one of us is getting something that we know she will eat and we won't finish...
