successful GD dinner!

I made homemade mac and cheese in the slow cooker tonight using the dietician's recommended pasta : Barilla Plus. It was delicious!! And my 1 hour number was only 105! ?

  • Yay!  I love it when I can have a great meal and get good numbers afterwards.  I made Chicken Marsala (recipe on dlife.com).  We had some instant mashed potatoes and broccoli and I had a glass of milk and my 2 hr number was 111 (supposed to be <120.)  I was so excited! :)

  • That sounds good, how many carbs per serving is the pasta?  Any time so far I've tried pasta, my numbers have skyrocketed.  And i'm craving it soooo bad!  Smile

  • The pasta had a pretty good amount of carbs (so I didn't have any others with the meal), like maybe 65 grams. But it had really high fiber and protein, so that must have made a difference for me. I recommend trying it!
  • The fat in the cheese also slows digestion of the carbs. I love that recipe, and only use the high fiber pastas! Yumm...
