I fully intend to call my OB tomorrow morning. But I'd like to know to any mommies who have dealt with a rapid resting pulse, what is considered too high. My resting pulse has been between 110-132 all day today. Even just sitting on the sofa watching tv. I really do not want to make an ER trip if I can wait til morning but what have your docs told you was acceptable?
I don't have dizziness, shortness of breath or pain. TIA!
Re: How fast is too fast?
I don't know I'm sorry. Actually this post has made me realize that I don't even know what a normal resting pulse is...I'm guessing 70ish.
Do you have an after hours or emergency # you can call?

My normal pulse is about 80-90 and my blood pressure right now is 117/78 so I know that its not BP related. Eveything else does feel fine. I just drank about a half a gallon of water, layed down for a while but it's still high.
I'm just dreading going to an ER full of sick people or calling an emergency number if it's not an emergency.
I did tell my doc about the rapidness at my appointment monday and he didn't seem concerned but I didn't realize until tonight that its constant and not just once in a while.
Thanks girls
Are you feeling alright? Too much stress or anything?
I have hypertension from anxiety and I get a rapid resting pulse (about the same as yours at times). The doctors said there's nothing that can be done until the baby is born. I was on meds but can't take them while pregnant.
They said, meanwhile, drink lots of water, relax as much as I can when stressed, try yoga.
I know this is late, but I thought I'd chip in and maybe make you feel better. Normal resting HR for a non pregnant person is 60-100. I work for a cardiologist who informed me early in my pregnancy when I was worried about my rapid heart rate that with all of the extra blood volume in our bodies it is absolutly normal to have an increased resting heart rate. My OB-GYN told me that as long as my heart rate is not above 129 resting (and this is personal to me since mine was fast pre-pregnancy) that I should not worry about it. If you ever feel your pulse is too fast, you could try a breathing exercise to slow it down. You just breathe in your nose and out your mouth. When you breathe in hold your breath for 2-3 seconds and then breathe out very slowly. This causes a slow in your heart rate.
I hope this helped a little bit! I bet you've already handled the situation though! Good luck!
