I'm trying to convince my stepmom to quit her awful job at the BoE in Clayton County. She's a master sewer and can make just about anything with or without a pattern. She made my sister's wedding dress from just studying a Monique Lhuiller dress in person. She made all our clothes as kids (until we wanted "cool" clothes - ha ha). And she's a really good teacher.
Anyhoo, I wanted to take a straw poll to see how many of you would actually pay for a sewing class. I'm not trying to get you to sign up for anything, I just think there's a lot of interest in sewing out there and I think my stepmom could make a go of it.
I'm working all this out in my head and I figure she could do small classes or private lessons. Maybe $30-$50 for a class, depending on what you'd learn?
What do y'all think?
Re: Sewing Class.
I would definitely be interested. I keep telling myself I'm going to sign up one day, but the interest is still there
I think the class prices you mentioned are very reasonable. Most I've seen are in a series (6 weeknights, etc.) for around $250+.
I have taken 3 sewing classes:
2 at Atlanta Sewing Center (one day each @ $35 each)--these were two different classes
1 at Joann's @ $60 for two sessions
Loved all of them.
I would LOVE to take a sewing class. ? ?My MIL has offered to buy me a sewing machine, but I don't want her to make an investment on something I don't even know how to use yet!?
