2nd Trimester

I think about the baby as "her" or "she"....

but I wouldn't really say that I have a strong feeling whether it's a boy or a girl. Apparently when I was talking about the baby moving the other day I said to my DH, "I just felt her move so much!" DH says her or she too.

Maybe it's my subconscious? T minus 13 days until we find out!

Re: I think about the baby as "her" or "she"....

  • I am constantly calling it a him or a he. I even lean towards little boy clothing when I am looking at stuff.

We have 2.5 weeks until we find out.

  • When we first got pregnant I called our baby a he and then started saying she and her a lot and well, my first one was right. Now we've had to readjust! GL!
  • I really struggled with this before we knew the gender.  I didn't want to call baby "it" but didn't want to label with he or she either.  It's torture waiting for that u/s!
  • We have been saying she for a while. My husband will say bring my little girl over here. I have to keep reminding him not to be disappointed with the results.

    The ultrasound is next thursday.

  • We always say she for some reason.  DH does too.  I think it's because when we did the ring test a couple years ago it said "girl, boy, girl, boy" so even though it could be wrong, I'd rather call the baby something than "it" so we just go with it.  Occasionally a he/him will come out, but I am feeling girl anyway, so we go with it.

  • I call baby 'her'/'she' too but I also told people I picked a girl (u/s not until aug 17th)....my "choice" in the matter always gets a laugh out of people...
  • I also always call it a her, subconsciously. I hate saying "it" and can not wait to find out whether it is a boy or girl so I can stop correcting myself when I do catch myself saying "her"

  • I've been having dreams that the baby is a girl, so sometimes I'll try calling the baby "him."  I'm just afraid that I will think of the baby as a girl too much and then will have to totally readjust my thinking if the baby turns out to be a boy!

  • I seem to always say Him or He.....DH is leaning towards a girl but we'll find out tomorrow - cant wait! I just hope the baby cooperates!!
  • Before my ultrasound, I always referred to baby as "baby." ?Like a lot of others, I didn't want to call him it. ?And baby was just as easy.
  • Everyone refers to baby as "he" or "boy". I do it, too. But for some reason I gravitate towards girl bedding/clothes, and I've picked out a girl name but not a boy. I really want a boy, but I've gotten more accustomed to wanting a girl. Time will tell!

  • I defintely say he/him when talking about the baby. Most people will remind me that the baby could be a girl, but I have had such a strong feeling since the beginning that the baby is a boy. I find out in two weeks, but until then I guess I'll keep saying he/him, if this baby is a girl I will be just as happy, but I will definitely have to do some readjusting.

  • Before we found out what he was I would find myself calling him a her, but I think it's because I am used to saying her due to DD.

I know what you mean.  I am convinced Nubbin is a boy, but secretly holding out hope for a girl :)  Either way we will be thrilled!

  • With DS I "thought" I was having a girl although I didn't really have any gut feelings. It was more that I wanted him to be a girl because my grandma had just died and I wanted to name the baby after her.  I was wrong, he is definitely a boy!

With this one I had a very strong gut feeling and was 100% that it was a girl, and she is.  Whenever I thought of her it was as a girl, with no question in my mind. I just "knew".

  • Before we knew the sex, one day I would call baby him, and the next her.

  • I tend to use feminine adjectives too.  I don't know why.  Probably because I'm hoping for a girl.  The waiting is driving me nuts!!

  • My H is VERY convinced the baby is a girl so he keeps calling it "she" or the "bambina".  I've always felt it was a boy but since H keeps calling it "she", now I do and I can't stop! lol
  • We actually did the same thing because my SO was totally convinced it was a girl and it actually is.
  • I started out calling it "it" then as time went on it I started saying she. I was right!
  • I was thinking boy the whole time, but never called LO by "he" or "him." The day before my u/s my DH said that he was getting vibes it's a girl. I told him he was probably right, because for some odd reason he knew I was pregnant before I got the BFP (he had been telling me for days to take a test, and I kept telling him I felt like I was starting my period). Sure enough, DH was right, it's a girl :)
  • we do this too~ only we call our LO "he" for some reason we have been doing this from the beginning.

  • I was calling the baby a "he" right from the beginning.  Found out yesterday he is really a "she" so now we are doing some readjusting lol.

  • I totally did that too!! At the beginning I thought it was a boy, and then once things got closer and the baby started moving I totally called her she. Turns out he's a boy, so I should have listened to my first instincts!

  • lol I was thinking about this the other day.  I refer to the baby as "he" and "him"; however, I don't have a feeling necessarily that it's a boy..just comes naturally.

We find out tomorrow if it's really a "he" or if I need to get used to saying "she"!
