How far from the hospital?

How far from your hospital do you live?

It took us a good 40 mins last night (driving there around 5-6pm)

That is what I am most nervous about going into labor...what if I wait too long to go? how will I know when I should really go?

I'm not even sure enough, if what I'm feeling today are contractions or something else!

30-40 with no traffic from our house, 20 minutes from my work, 2 minutes from my doctor.

I am less than a half of a mile from my hospital. Driving, it takes us about 1 min to get there. We're so lucky.

I don't want to get to the hospital too early either. I hear they don't let you get out of bed much and you contractions slow down, etc. I could be wrong though. I am sure you will be fine. Listen to your body and I'm sure everything will go great!

Its about 12 minutes from our house, even during rush hour, and I work from home so I'm not worried about being too far away.?

What I *am* worried about though is hurricane season. Our hospital only has 4 L&D suites and the only time they've had to overflow into the Mother-Baby rooms was last year when Houston evacuated for a hurricane and there were lots of out of town women delivering there. I better get my darn L&D suite.. so hurricanes, stay away!?

We're under 10 miles from the hospital but with rush hour traffic would it take at least 30-40 mins to get there.

I live 40 minutes away with normal traffic. My MW asked me this at my last app't and when I told her how long it took, she told me I should probably call her and get ready to come in when contractions are 6-7 minutes apart. I'd ask your OB or MW what they think.

I am an hour away at minimum and almost 2-3 at maximum. There are major lane closures for the next 6 weeks on a bridge to get to the hospital so I am screwed if I try to go during traffic times. I might be having this baby on the side of the road.

luckily we have 3 hospitals on Staten Island, the one I am delivering at is about 5 min from my house, I plan on waiting as long as possible before going!

we are close- about 15 minutes BUT the hospital is in philly and traffic can be a nightmare! so it could quite possibly take us 45 minutes to get there on a bad day...

I'm about an hour away from the hospital. That's without traffic, so if I need to go during rush hour or a weekend when there will be beach traffic, I don't know how long it will take.

It's about 30-40 minutes from my work and only 15 from home. I am hoping I don't go into labor at work, mainly because I wouldn't want to have to share the driving to the hospital experience with a co-worker.

I think you should be okay if you're 40 minutes away. Although, you should probably plan on leaving for the hospital a little earlier than you would otherwise!

At rush hour it could take an hour. During off times it's like 15 minutes.

With little to no traffic and mostly green lights...ours is about 10 minutes away.

It could take as long as 20 minutes though if traffic is bad and we hit all red lights.

If we go my husbands way 25-30 min. If we go my way 18-22 min. We both drive slow, I am probably the slower driver, but he just goes through downtown and I avoid most of it.
