During rush hour about 30-1.5. Normally 15-20. Thing to keep in mind (esp if this your first) is that labor is much longer than that commute generally. You don't want to get there too early or chances of a c/s will increase because you are on a timer to have the baby once you are admitted. However, you don't want to be past the point of no return when you leave either. I think the first is more likely to happen than the last though.
Listen to your body and stay calm and hydrated and you will definitely know when time to go is.
About 30 miles and 30 min if noone is on the freeway. They reduced the speed this week from 75 to 55 and put up construction signs for like 10 miles of road I have no idea what/when they are goign to work. I'm also worried about the increased time if I have to go between 4 and 6:30 it could easily take 30 min longer.

About 30 min. Just rely on your doc to tell when to go. If it makes you really nervous, just talk to your doc about it ahead of time so he/she can give you suggestions about when to call/go in.
We are just blocks away from hospital. I also live blocks away from where I work so either way it will be less than a 5 minute drive. We are super lucky! We also can't wait to meet our little boy for the first time!
Re: How far from the hospital?
We're very lucky. Our hospital is less than a mile down the road. I can see the hospital from our front door.
In good traffic, with lights on our side and DH driving normally, probably 15 minutes. Add 10-15 minutes for red lights and moderate traffic.?
In rush hour, at least 40, depending on exactly what time of day it is. ?
