I used HSHHC but didn't let him CIO until he was 9 mos and even then, not for more than 15 minutes at a time. But it has good advice for the amt of sleep your child needs etc.
I just started reading HSHHC and am hoping to learn a thing or two. I'm finding the reading a little technical right now but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

I've found HSH to be really spot on with where Ivy is in her sleep cycles (for the most part - lately it's been a crapshoot). I don't let her CIO really though - but there's usually not a need to. She has once for 10 min and that was it. It was really helpful in getting her used to self-soothing and not having to put down a sleeping baby, wondering if she'd wake up adn we'd have to start over....
IMO it's not a cover-to-cover read. I jsut read the age-stages and reference where needed.
I'm reading HSHHC and find it pretty helpful. DS does not have any sleep problems. I'm using it more as a preventive tool. I plan to also read Feber once I'm done with HSHHC.
