I used HSHHC but didn't let him CIO until he was 9 mos and even then, not for more than 15 minutes at a time.  But it has good advice for the amt of sleep your child needs etc.

  • I just started reading HSHHC and am hoping to learn a thing or two.  I'm finding the reading a little technical right now but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

  • I've found HSH to be really spot on with where Ivy is in her sleep cycles (for the most part - lately it's been a crapshoot). I don't let her CIO really though - but there's usually not a need to. She has once for 10 min and that was it. It was really helpful in getting her used to self-soothing and not having to put down a sleeping baby, wondering if she'd wake up adn we'd have to start over....

IMO it's not a cover-to-cover read. I jsut read the age-stages and reference where needed.

  • I'm reading HSHHC and find it pretty helpful. DS does not have any sleep problems. I'm using it more as a preventive tool. I plan to also read Feber once I'm done with HSHHC.
