Good morning ladies! I know that you all aren't doctors or psychologists, but I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas. She started this last week. When she is done eating she just starts crying. As soon as she is cleaned up and out of her chair she is fine. She doesn't usually do it at breakfast, but she does it every day after lunch (at daycare) and most nights after dinner. At first I thought maybe she was getting a belly ache or something, but since she stops crying immediately after she is out of her chair, I doubt she is in pain. She also sometimes calls for her "buppy" (her blankie that she carries with her) so we let her have it on her lap when she eats and that isn't helping either. I just don't get it.
I tried looking around online and did find one instance where a toddler was doing this. Her mother taught her the sign for "finished" and the crying stopped. Maybe this is just Rylie's way of telling us she's done?
The girls at daycare are stumped. They're not worried about her really, but it does bother them because they don't know what to do for her. I feel the same. So I wanted to see if any of you have any ideas. TIA!
Re: Why is my daughter crying when she's done eating?
I thought acid reflux too, but the fact that she stops crying immediately after she gets out of her chair made me not think that anymore. I have bad acid reflux right now and it hurts constantly...not just for a few seconds after I'm done eating. But that is definitely on my list of possibilities to ask the pediatrician about.
