This makes me so sad. I really wonder how things would have turned out if they would have never done the show. I think the fame and money went to their heads--especially Kate. I feel bad for the kids.

I really hope a positive comes out of all of this and the family takes time to heal and get their lives back in order.

Children of divorce can end up just fine, however children who have their childhood exploited for tabloids and profit is really another story...

Well I hope they already sat down and had the conversation with their children letting them know that it was their parent's mistakes that ended their marriage and not anything they may have ever done. Kinda sad even though this may be for the best.

That's so sad. I feel bad for the kids to have to go through this in the public eye. On MSN, reporters were asking Jon if they were getting a divorce and he kept telling them to watch the show tonight. I just thought it was very low class to "advertise" the show, if it is ending in divorce.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I was just going to type that exact thing! I'm not a big fan of Kate myself and always liked Jon. But things must have been good and right between them for them to be together as long as they were. It's to bad they can't get over this hurdle and find that reason again. It seems to happen every time with families that sell themselves to the TV. It's very sad, exp for the kids.

As a child of divorced parents I think people can forget that! I think those kids will be better off having two parents living separately happy than miserable together.

I agree, its the fame and fourtune that has ended this marriage. Well at least the inability to realize those are not the things that matter in life.

It's sad to see what fame and fortune can do to some people. Those kids would have been so much happier with two happy parents in their small home than they are now with two miserable parents in a huge house with public attention!

I feel for the whole family and will not watch tonight. That show must end.

What you said is true. Jon made all those choices. The only thing is how much would he have done if Kate wasn't money/power hungry and rude to him all the time? It's almost more like the rebellion against an overbearing, strict parent more than a mid life crisis. He is only in his early thirties.

ETA: I totally disagree with his actions. I definitely do not condone adultery, or any of that. It just seems like Kate is the main issue to me.

he seems pretty weak to me. not that i agree with the way either of them are handling this. but she is very dominating over him so who knows what was his choice vs. what was her choice for their family.

as a viewer i would definitely place more blame on her than on him, but that's just the way i see it.

I absolutely agree, he shouldn't blame anything on anyone. Everything he has done is wrong. And I was mostly kidding about Kate forcing him to sign.

I just think that she's crazy, and Jon wasn't happy. And I am not sticking up for his actions, they were wrong. I just don't know what else he could have done. If he told Kate he wanted to stop the show, and she refuses, what options does he have to be happy? I don't feel sorry for him, I just feel that in a marriage both parties should be happy, and a refusal on Kate's part to support her husband's well being is a form of marriage abandonment. She basically said her career is more important than their marriage. Is he supposed to passively sit at home and do what he's told? No! He needs to go out and try to be happy. He went about it in the wrong way, though. Instead of going partying, he should have been seeking counseling.
