Anyone read it? What did you think?
My first DS didn't sleep through the night until 11 months (he was up every three hours), I never thought that could happen, ha! Maybe I should have read a few books before hand.
if you havn't read baby wise, are there any books you have?
Re: Baby Wise
Simply put - no. www.ezzo.com
Malakai - 8.3.09
Ezra - 12.1.11 ASD
Ditto. Baby Wise = scary.
Look into the Baby Book by the Sears family if you're interested in a decent baby book.
I agree with PP - Baby Wise doesn't seem like a good idea.
Baby 411 has a good review of different sleep "programs".
That's great that you loved it but the AAP says it promotes failure to thrive in children and the authors are not qualified to give childcare advice. There are better options available.
Have you read it zoieglow? It actually quotes the AAP in several positive ways. I'm reading several books but I find Baby Wise to be very helpful and offer some great suggestions. In addition, the AAP's recommendation was from the 1995 edition of Baby Wise. That was 14 years ago! Since then, countless Baby Wise editions have been released. Here is more info:

Oh Baby Wise, how I hate this stupid little book. It's the mother of all "parent centric" parenting advice books. If you believe in things like letting a 1 month old cry it out, trying to force a 2 month old to follow a sleeping and eating schedule, and if overall you think that children are just annoying inconveniences that need to be managed then yes by all means, go follow this book. (And also if you believe that children can only be properly raised by a married man and a woman, but that strain is a little more subtle throughout the book.)
I have read the book pp. I was given it as a gift by a well meaning friend but was completely appalled by it within 5 pages. I had no idea how controversial it was until I started doing some digging and talked to our pediatrician about it. She is SOOOOOO not a fan of this book.
Just know that this is a HIGHLY controversial book in the medical world and in parenting circles. Please do some research on it before you just start following their advice. Most of it directly contradicts what the AAP recommends.

Seriously... a two month old sleeping thru the night is NOT the norm, nor should it be expected. Come on folks. (and I even got lucky with DD, I DO NOT expect Kai to do the same...)
