1st Trimester

icy hot patch?

yea or nay?

i threw my back out and it's pretty painful.  i can always do tylenol, but dh keeps pestering me to use an icy hot patch.

Re: icy hot patch?

  • I called my OB about this..... He said it is no problem.

When I called I had pain in my neck/shoulder and was asking to use the icyhot stick. He said as long as it isn't on my belly it should be fine and the ingredients in icyhot never reaches the blood stream and stays only within the muscular wall. I only did it once then decided to alternate between ice packs and heating pads and not do the icyhot stick. I was in my first trimester and EVERY smell made me sick!
