How much do you take and when? As I expected, my OB put me on insulin today b/c I can't get my fasting numbers below 100. Actually, she sent me to counseling to learn how to do them etc and I don't ahve that appt until Thurs.
I'm starting with 5 ml (is ml right? 5 something!) and I have no idea if that is a lot or a little b/c I've been able to control with diet for everything else.
If you are on insulin for your fasting numbers, how much to do use and when do you do it? Have you had to adjust it a lot to get to where you need to be? I'm just curious how fast this will work.

Re: If you are on insulin for fasting numbers...
I take insulin twice a day. ?I am taking the quick acting and the long lasting kind (One is N and one is R... I forget which is which.) ? At night, I take 8 units of the long lasting and 5 of the quick acting (I am assuming that this is what controls my fasting #s.) ?In the morning I am on 12 of the the long lasting and 5 of the quick acting. ?I am a type 2 diabetic (for years before I got pregnant) so my amounts are probably a little different than yours, if you have GD.
I started off with lower numbers on the long lasting (10 in the AM, 5 in the PM) but they had to raise it up last week due to high sugars. In about a 6 week time, they've upped me once. ?When i asked what is "normal" the nurse wouldn't tell me, and said everyone is different. ?O and I have been on insulin since I got my BFP (I was switched to it from meds that I took before.) ?
And btw, insulin is measured in units. ?:)
