Hey Kathy (Lemen99)!
My father was a Civil Engineer and graduated from Purdue (he grew up in southern Indiana around the Seymour area - North Vernon/Hayden). Dad was an avid photographer as one of his hobbies, and I played the viola for 7 years. Dad is actually being inducted into his hometown "Hall of Fame" posthumously sp?) this summer for his engineering work. He remained dedicated to the engineering department at Purdue up until his death and I think that there may still be a scholarship there funded in part by him/his estate. What kind of engineering do you do? Is your husband an engineer as well?

2) Give us a short summary of your children's names, how early they were born, how old they are now, and why they were born early. Our DD is Elizabeth Rose. She was born at 35 w 4 d at 4 lbs 3 oz and 16.5" long. I was put on hospital bed rest at 27 weeks (when I received the steroid shots) due to decreased blood flow to the placenta. DD was diagnosed with IUGR and we were told she could come at any time. After ~4 weeks in the hospital (OY!) things were actually improving so I was sent home on 'strict bed rest' with bi-weekly U/S and NSTs (how much bed rest is that, having to go to the hospital twice a week?). Anyway, went in for my scheduled U/S on that Thursday (35 w 4 d) and was told we'd gotten to the point where she'd be better off outside than in. Had a C-section 4 hours later. She spent 6 days in the NICU due to her size (skin and bones, so she couldn't regulate her blood sugar) and jaundice (she got bruised pretty badly during the C-section because she had turned completely around in me between the U/S and the surgery...doc thought she was grabbing bum but actually got her shoulder/back). DD is 20 1/2 months and doing great, except for her size (she's still not on the growth charts, but she's outgrown reflux and MSPI). She's smart as a tack, healthy and happy.
3) Where are you from? We live in Connecticut.
