I could take time off whenever I want to, but since I'm still pretty comfortable and we have bills to pay, I'll take the month of paychecks! Besides, I get 12 weeks maternity leave total and would rather have mine after BabyEng is here.
I'm really trying, but the longer baby stays in the harder it is to come in to work. I am glad that I have made it this far though. I get 12 weeks total as well and really want to spend as much time with LO as possible.

That's the plan for us. I keep my 16 month old niece at my home though, so our situation is a little different. I will have 6 weeks half-pay after baby arrives, and don't want to miss any paychecks before hand if I don't *need* to.??

I'm thinking that I will feel the same if I get to 40w, 2 d!
I will be. I have use vaca/sick time to get any kind of paycheck while out on maternity leave so I plan on sticking it out here as long as I can so that I still get somewhat of a paycheck while gone - even if it is less sadly.
I'm working up until delivery. I don't want to use up vacation time before the delivery that is going to be needed in the last few weeks of my maternity leave. Besides, I have been getting a lot of help at work, so I might as well take the help and slack off a bit while I can get away with it and still be able to take the full 12 weeks later!
Same story here! I would love to leave now but we need the paychecks, as little as they are. I get 12 weeks as well and want to take full advantage of that after the Bella-rina comes. I don't plan on coming back here though. In fact, i was about to quit this job but i found out i was pregnant. I can't wait to be free of this place!

I was going to work till june 26 ( about a week before my due date) but i re-thought it and my last day will be june 19! it's just a week but still i'm excited LOL
I am! And I am currently hating myself for the decision. But, I've had a sinus infection and running a low grade fever for three days now and am just trying to "work through it" so I can get done with this week. I am contemplating asking to work from home next week.
I don't have to work but think I would go crazy at home and time would go SO slow if I stopped now so I will work until the week before my due date...I really like my job.
I did with DS#1. This time I am on bed rest, but will go off it around 36w if I make it that far and I will go back to work. I would MUCH rather use my time off after baby than before.
If I go before my EDD I'll work until the birth, but I won't work past my EDD...I already hate being here as it is, I can't imagine coming to work and being overdue... My MW said they won't let me go over 10 days past, so 10 days of leave at the most is all I would have to take before ML. Here's hoping I'll go early!
That WAS the plan. But, due to PIH, I am on bedrest now. I was hoping to accrue enough vacation/sick time to be able to paid for one month off after baby. Now, I am going to be using all my vacation/sick time to get me to teh delivery date. Then, I will be on STD for less than 2/3 of my pay.

September 2014: FSH= 15.7 AMH= 0.25 UGH!!! Old lady Ovaries!!!
October & November 2014: Gonadatropin injections, HCG & IUI... BFNs!!
I am. That's the plan anyway. I'm not really sure I'm going to be able to make it though if I don't have this kid soon. It's getting so hard to move, let alone actually do work
I am still here! I am at work now! My first due date is June 6 then she moved me up to June 1 so I am in the middle of them! I am going to teach a Cardio/tone class tonight.
I am quitting when I leave so no leave for me and I lose my benefits if I quit early
I was wondering how this worked. I didn't know if i could tell them now that i don't plan on coming back and still receive by medical and 12 weeks time off with pay after the birth. Is that how it works?

I'm a teacher and I'm already out for the summer. My school starts back August 3rd and I'm due two and a half weeks later. My plan is to work that first week for sure, and then play it by ear after that. However, today when I was in the doctor's office, I read an article in FitPregnancy that talked about how mothers who take off some time before the delivery have better labors because (the theory goes) that they have had some time to rest up for the big event. I thought it was interesting anyway.

so far.... but its not fun at all. im taking 1/2 days pretty much from now until he comes or Im induced...which ever happens first. I have 45 hours of accrued PTO right now so that will drain some of it depending up on when he comes. I have to sit at a computer and on the phone for my job .... which are both extremely uncomfortable for me.
I get 12 weeks leave and I dont want to start my leave any sooner than I have to since it doesnt count as part of my PTO.
I will be at work up until I go into labor if I can. I sit at a desk all gosh darn day. My job is easy and there is a bathroom right next to me, a full kitchen just a short walk away and A couch I can lay down on if need be. I only get 6 weeks leave, unpaid so I do hope to use that time when my baby is around. It still sickens me how poorly america handles bringing a new life into this world. 6 weeks is nothing.

I plan on working up until I deliver - so far so good. I sit at a desk and can get up move or walk whenever I need, so its not super taxing on me. Plus, I think if I was sitting around the house I'd be bored as all get out. I'd likely still be working remotely.
I'm getting tired again, but its no worse than 1st Tri. And my 'speed limit' is a bit lower, but other than that, I feel pretty good.
I'll be taking at least 10 weeks (6 mat leave, and 4 vacay) and want to spend as much of that time with the babe as I can.

I LOVE THIS!!! Im right with you....headed to the gym at 4:30 for my 1 hour of cardio (not walking) and weights....same ole same ole....
Like most people, I'm going to try my hardest to make it all the way until I give birth, so my 12 weeks of leave all are spent with the baby. ?
Can I just say ? maternity leave SUCKS in this country!!! ?I mean, thanks US Gov't, for making it mandatory for businesses to give women 12 weeks of maternity leave, but NOT making it mandatory to PAY THEM.
I am going to try and work up to my due date if LO hasn't come by then and if the doc is fine with it. Once I hit 40 weeks my butt will be at home. But before then I am going to try and work as much as possible. I also have the option of working part time if I really want to. But I am going to try and get as many full pay checks as possible.
I am planning on working up until the birth. If I dont have him by the Friday after my EDD then I will just take some vacation time until he gets here. That way I have my full 6 weeks at home with him.
I have to use short term disability, and only get 6weeks for regular delivery and 8weeks for c/s. My EDD is Aug 5th, which is a Wednesday. If I have not had her by Friday, I will probably stop working then.
I am quitting when I leave so no leave for me and I lose my benefits if I quit early

It all depends on the company. Mine said that I've earned my ML by working up until this point and I wouldn't have to repay them STD benefits or anything if I decided to not come back for any reason... but I realize not all companies are this great!

My last day is tomorrow. I'm glad. I'm starting to feel crappy.
That said, I'm happy that I worked as long as I did. I really didn't start feeling like I didn't want to be here until this week.

I worked up until I was induced with DS.
