Anyone else with partial placenta previa?

From everything I have read it seems pretty common. My OB said it's a really small piece of the placenta & he's confident it will heal on it's own. Of course I am paranoid and get upset whenever something doesn't go right with my pregnancy. Any experiences you can share with me would be much appreciated.

Hey hun!! Mine started as complete previa, completely covering the cervix. By 16 weeks, it was partial previa. By 18 weeks, it was 2.2 cm away. They would like to see it 3cm away to allow for a vaginal birth.

The uterus is still pretty small and the placenta is a large portion of it at this point. As the uterus grows, the placenta is very likely to shift. Something like 95% of them move.

I was diagnosed with a low lying placenta at my 20 week u/s. I had experienced no problems from it and had no bleeding. Basically my placenta was just low and really close to the cervix and not covering it like partial placenta previa is. I did go back at 28 weeks and my placenta had moved up.

From what my Dr said had it not moved I would have had a c-section, but that would have been my only "complication"

Hey! I had an almost complete previa at 13 weeks, and it had resolved by my Big u/s.?

As your uterus grows, your placenta will most likely move and the previa will resolve itself

I was diagnosed with placenta previa at 17w. By 21w it was perfect and normal. I was told it moves to where it's supposed to be 95% of the time and it did! Good Luck!

I had it and thus far it has cleared up (well moved) on its own. Don't worry!

I had this and mine was also anterior. It moves up on it's own 90% of the time, and mine did, too. Mine was discovered at 20 weeks and was rechecked at 28 weeks. It was completely moved away from the cervix by then. Try not to worry. It's not something serious right now and as long as you don't have any bleeding there shouldn't be any problems.

Hi - I had partial placenta previa with my last pregnancy, however I happened to be in the small statistic of women where my placenta did not move. I don't want to frighten you at all with this, instead I just wanted to give you an idea of what happens when the previa remains:

First I should say I was told in 95% of the cases, the placenta migrates by the time of delivery and therefore should not be a problem. Mine was discovered at the 20-week ultrasound and the partial previa still remained at the 28-week follow up. I had no problems with the previa until maybe about 30 weeks when I had a major bleed. I went straight to the hospital and was monitored - the bleeding did stop immediately and the baby was perfectly fine (in fact, the baby was fine throughout the whole mess). The bleeding apparently occurred because the placenta did begin to move...however not enough to clear me of the previa. From there, I was put on bedrest at home. Then a few weeks later, I only had brown spotting yet my doctor didn't want to take chances - he actually wanted to deliver at 34 weeks but - long story short - I refused it and remained on bedrest at the hospital until 36 weeks when I delivered a beautiful healthy baby boy via c-section. Yes, the bedrest was brutal and the stress was unbearable, but I had a very good outcome.
